Hi all,
I just purchased this car, as I have been searching very hard to a two tone.
The engine has a tapping noise, and I want to know if it is a engine knock or the lifters? Car has 200k miles.
After talking with Rustys14 on here, he recommended that I post a video in this section for more help.
I opened the valve cover and can see that the timing belt and guides have been changed very recently. I haven't checked the oil pan to see if any pieces from the old broken guides (if any) are stuck in there.
The car doesn't smoke either, or overheat. I drove it home for a about an hour, but it didn't seem to want to go over 2k rpm easily, however I wasn't trying to push it over that either.
Here are photos from the timing belt/guides when I checked:

And here is a video of the car running. Please note that it might be louder than usual as I changed out the aftermarket header and exhaust it had for stock, and there might still be exhaust leaks here and there- there were bolts missing on the manifold.

I am looking to save it if I can, but if it is really messed up then I will want to swap it out for another single cam.
thanks,
Cody
