So i got a s14 motor form a local guy that was in pretty good condition after my original engine in my s13 blew, i'm in the process of putting it in. My first question is in regards to the swirl control valve, and me having the s13 harness and ecu. Will i be able to pass smog with out the swirl control? I've read that it changes fuel and timing curves so i'm a little worried. Second question is about the egr, i noticed on the s14 the clip is in a much lower location, can i just extend my egr control clip down to it by extending the wires?

Is there anything else i should know about putting an s14 motor into an s13? any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

I would put the S13 intake and exhaust manifolds on the S14 motor. Should make your life a lot easier.

I swapped the exhaust manifolds at the time when i had the s13 motor, but i have since sold the s13 motor. So swapping intake manifolds would not be possible at this point. This s14 motor was in my car for about a year with an "special smog" I had to change some seals and swap the tranny so i just recently pulled the motor back out. Now that its out i want to do whatever i can to pass smog... if possible. Now that ive went threw it all and put back all the smog equipment that i had. Everything SEEMS to be there that i need, all the smog equipment is connected (to my knowledge), minus the swirl control. Any thoughts?
