I'm sure this has been covered to death but I just don't feel like searching. (And I felt like starting a new thread).
Can you use the KA engine from a 93-97 Altima on an S14? Just the block, just the head, or the whole thing?
I'm wondering cause I wanna find a used KA to build up then swap in and still keep my car running in the process. Plus I'm planning on doing the work myself to learn about the KA inside and out.

Are they? interesting. Well my friend used to have a 97' and his block looked almost exactly like mine. I remember reading somewhere that someones done a rwd converison in a 200sx with a Silvia SR20.
but maybe you're right. Cause if you think about it the motor mounts are in different places, I think. Anyone got anymore info?

i'm almost 100% certain that FWD versions of the same nissan engine are not drop in compatible. as for certain components... i have no clue.
i don't see why it's an issue though. RWD ka24de's are can be had for cheap.

what about motor mounts, that is the main part that I would think would be different.

The heads are very different on the FF versions - the distributor comes out the back instead of the side near the front. The intake manifolds are reversed, too, with the throttle body at the back.

So basically it wouldn't be worth it to even mess with. Cool, I'll just find a 240 block to work on.
