As the title says- do I need new exhaust studs and bolts when i put my header on? I think the gasket goes without saying but can I reuse old studs and bolts?

Of course, as long as you didn't strip them or cross thread them. Don't worry.

i just put some headers on a maxima last weekend and we tried finding ss studs and nuts to use without much luck. we ended up breaking off 4 studs into the head cuz 140k of ny weather owns us, so we needed a few anyway. ended up using water pump studs with a good amount of antiseize. if all your threads are in good shape you should be alrite though.

if you are that worried then just go buy some replacements. why even ask these sort of questions?

the maxima is a fwd v6, so it was way harder than the 240 should be.

what you do is buy an easy out set with the proper sized bit, a really aggressive bit too (diamond, titanium). you centerpunch the stud, then drill into it on center with the bit. then put on the easy out and thread it into the stud. works great. the maxima studs were only 8mm, so they broke real easy. if the ka is similar, i would almost expect it to happen. we tried a good amount of pb and heating them up a bit to break the rust lock, but still lost a few. a breaker bar should not be needed, that will probably snap them almost instantly. we used a 3/8s drive on most of them, and a 1/4" drive on the rear, and even that broke 2. well hope this helps you a little. i woudlnt worry about breaking them, its not too hard to fix.
