Hey guys, I have a stock redtop with a working boost control solenoid, I also have a manual boost controller off of my S14 SR car that I am no longer using. My question is, which will run better?
Will not using the boost control solenoid trigger the CEL and make the ECU go into limp mode and pull timing and add fuel? Or do SR20s not care? Just wondering, as I will run 11psi on either setup, just wondering if SRs like the boost control solenoid or if they would prefer a manual boost controller.
THANKS!!!

and yes I have searched and read every thread I can find, however most end up in a 7psi vs 11psi stock boost debate... I don't give a rats ass about stock boost, I just want to know whether the SR is unhappy without the factory solenoid, catch my drift? Thanks guys, SR gurus please chime in!

You should be able to run without the solenoid and be fine. All you'll be doing is running off the wastegate. You won't pull CELs. I run mine off wastegate for daily.

I've removed that useless thing from over 100 swaps. Ditch it. I would be amazed if it is actually electrically working correctly.

I'd rather an adjustable w/g actuator over an MBC since you actually care about how it runs. That said, you won't get any CELs.

FYI if you remove the flux capacitor from an sr20det you won't throw a code either!;)
