S15 steering wheel and airbag question

Idiot friend got in an accident in my car and my airbags blew! And i was reading around.. a s15 steering wheel is what? 250$$? and a whole new driver side airbag is like 1000$ (says the mechanic for a new one). so that s15 steering wheel with an airbag and its 100% plug and play? so is that a good idea and just buy that? or am i completely wrong about it? :confused: and where can i find the s15 steering wheel? Thanks all!

p.s. anyone selling passenger side airbag w/ airbag cover and w/ new compter or w/e? (sorry i'm really dumb about these things :confused: )

S15 steering wheel is not plug and play...however some people got it to work (just not me).

If your airbags blew...you will need a new dashboard...you can't get away with just the cover.

you COULD get away with just a cover, i have in my car a blown passenger air bag that i cut the bag off took all hte metal brackets off, then there was a metal plat that gave it its form so i used a rubber hammer to hammer the plate straight again and siliconed it back into the dash. it works.

This is the S14? Do you have any pics? Because every blown dash S14 I've seen took out a bit of the dashboard.

I apologize this isnt (my own ) in an S14 but i know it works in several cars , ive never seen a bag blow in an S14 so if it doesnt look like it can then i might not but if it blew out clean then mayebyou could save your dash - can my apologies for not mentioning that it wasnt in an S14

I believe a R33 steering wheel is plug and play and is very similar to JDM s14 wheel. Just another option you can consider.

yup...the S14 will work...just have to do some simple wiring for the horn. I have the 180SX wheel in my car....but its the SAME steering wheel...and looks rather nice. :)

Blu808 has a s14 driver wheel with airbag and a passenger side air bag for $300 shipped. That guy is the shit.

be a man and get a nice aftermarket one.. who needs airbag.. lol.. how bad is the dash? my friend's dash (eclipse) was damage from a crash and he got the whole thing recovered and fix for 300..

My S15 steering wheel and my friend's both seem to work fine. No airbag light after installation. Both airbags are hooked up as far as installation goes.
