Hey I'm working on a series 1 rb25 swap in an s13 ad I just went to crank and but theres no spark. I followed the first two write ups that come up on Google when you search rb25 s13 wiring diy.
I believe the problem is that neither article mentions the two relays that come on the r33 harness so I cut them off because they had extra wires. Now I think I actually need them.
If that is the problem can anyone give me info on how to wire the relays back in?

You're talking about the relays mounted very closely to the ECU? Yes, you do need the relays to power the ECU. Aren't you able to match the wire pig-tail colors to rewire the relays?

Yeah those are the ones I am talking about. I could color match the wires but what do the rest of the wires go to.. I don't remember which colors exactly.

If I remember correctly, several wires are routed to the chassis interface plug.

Here's the two relays. From what I can see the thick red and black/red wires go to the Grey plug in the passenger fenderwell, orange ones go to the pin 104 in the ecu, the white with pink dots I believe goes to the ignition power.
I assume the black with white stripe goes to pins 49, 59, and 109. And I assume the two white with black stripe goes to the ecu at pin 58

I wired them back in but can only get the relays to click if I ground the orange wire. And the fuel pump won't turn on

Sounds like the chassis interface plug (passenger footwell area) is wired incorrectly. Your fuel pump is grounded by the ECU; the wiring is routed through the chassis interface plug. If an R33 harness is installed in an S-chassis, you must modify the wiring from the ECU to chassis interface. S-chassis interface plug power pin-out is different from the Skyline pin-out. Check your fuel pump fuse to see if it blew.

I followed these two write ups along with an r33 ecu pinout

Hmmm, I didn't realize the S13 harness was nothing like the s14. Looks like the Fuel pump relay isn't powered through the chassis interface plug. Instead it's routed through the engine bay fuse box somwhere? Can't really help ya there. I need to download an S13 diagram before I give any more assistance.
Nicoclub write-up is jank as hell. Powering the injectors and ignition coils via wires soldered into the ACC circuit?! There has got to be a better way.

Yeah s13 has 2 plugs in the enine bay that turn on the ecu and fuel pump. The foldout in the s13 fsm has a complete wiring diagram if you want to look at it.
I believe I've tracked the problem down to the relay with a black/red wire on it. When I connected the relays back up the black/red wire goes to the ecu as a ground but from the chassis plug the red/black wire is a switched 12v. The relay sends power to the ignition circut so I think the red/black should be +12v not ground

Another update.. just realized the swap came with a series 2 ecu from the importer. Would that cause any problems?
