weird transmission vibration around 3k rpm in any gear

I have a 95 s14 and whenever I accelerate in any gear there is a crazy vibration around 3k rpm no matter what gear I'm in but as soon as it gets to about 4k rpm it starts to go away.. any gear, Any speed, and it feels like it's coming from the trans/driveshaft because the shifter will shake violently. Car used to be automatic but it just recently started doing this.. Anyone have any ideas?

Check carrier bearing play an bushings

Sounds like the carrier bearing on the drive shaft to me as well. Check that trans mount while you are down there.
