Any harm in hand cranking an engine backwards on an sr20det? I've heard that in some engines if you spin it backwards the chain can skip a tooth, but can anybody confirm this for our platform?

By hand? Prolly not. If you're worried spin it right ways to see if it binds.

Yeah by hand with a ratchet on the crank pulley bolt. It'll go both ways but I'm not sure if there is s risk of the timing chain skipping of it is spun in the wrong direction

By hand, you shouldn't have a problem, but like Oddyseus said, if you're concerned, spin it the right way a few times and see if anything went wrong.
