Hey, ive been wonderin this for a bit now, I imported a Nissan S14 Kouki a short while ago and have been working on it since. Recently some annoying kids at school have started calling me out to race and I am not very familiar with North americans as ive never been interested in them. I know he has a 2014 Mustang, Its stock with no mods as its bring leased/financed I think. Its also got a 6 cyl engine. My S14 currently has an Sr20det with the japanese t28 bb turbo, with an upgraded large front mount intercooler It also has stage 2 cams and a stage 2 clutch. This kid really annoys me and I really want to race him but I dont want to end up embarrassing myself as I am new to the car and havnt really raced it before

Get some seat time and practice and you should embarrass him.

Those newer V6 stangs are pretty quick. Get some practice.

Street racing is dangerous! espically for kids who are noobs at it...given that practically everyone did it at one point, get some seat time with your car, learn to launch the car properly, get a feel for the engine and the way the car reacts- wheelspin etc. This will help with car control......
The s14 will certainly come out on top but only with a good driver. You can have all the power in the world but if you can't drive or know your car, you will loose as well as possibly wreck and/or kill someone. Don't be statistic....

Dude dont race on the streets. Its just not a good idea, the cops will may bust you and its possible that you may, at the least bad end of the spectrum, hurt your car, and at the worst end of the spectrum, hurt or kill someone. Its just a stupid idea. ESPECIALLY with inexperienced drivers.

Please dont do it.

just race him on a crowded street. you kids wont learn till you kill someone or crash. so go for it and do it. remember always give in to peer pressure :)

Clever, most appropriate for this time of year.

I don't know where you are in canada but most of it is a frozen waste land right now, what are you even doing driving your car let alone planning a race.

dont waste your time. unless its a V8 in pre-2015 models, the car is a joke. even stock GT V8s are slow in pre-2015 models.

you would more than likely destroy that stupid V6 Nutstain... but is a ticket worth it? if youre doing it at your local speedway its fine, drag it up. But if youre out street racing, you are risking your own life, car, license and the same of people around you... in other words, if you wanna embarrass the guy do it at the drag strip!

Ease up on the misinformation. A coyote v8 (so a 2011+ mustang) is 390whp out of the box and runs a high 12 in stock form.

This is a dumb thread and I'd never weigh in otherwise, but the coyote mustangs get down.

The v6 sure. Dorkidori is talking about pre-2015 GTs being slow. Correcting that.

MOST people dont know how to drive their Mustang to actually get it into 12s. the average times out here ive seen 99% of Mustang GT owners post is high to mid 13s... which is what an S14 SR w/T28 at 12-14psi SHOULD run anyways! (16psi with a GOOD tune on an SR w/GT28RS from S15 should post 12s if driven properly) the OP's S14 should easily best a V6 Mustang and hang with, if not beat, a Mustang GT V8!

Mustang are like tampons, every pussy has one.

In that sense don't be a d-bag and street race, especially if you don't have the best driving skills, that always ends up bad.

Just beat the shit out of him in front of a big group of people at school and that'll settle all.

Still 390whp stock.

You're also assuming 17 yo hs kid with a 250whp s14 knows how to drive.

Your S14 won't "embarrass" a V6 14 Mustang. And it won't touch a GT. If you're ON A TRACK, it's driver's race and regardless of who the driver is, no one will get embarrassed. One will just win and the other won't win by just a little bit.

dorki, I don't know what drivers you're watching, but everyone up here with an S57 GT (2011-2014) either hits the Glenn (Watkins-Glenn), Empire Drag, does SCCA, or a combo of the 3. MOST of them are old. And all of them can drive. Now, the guys with Shelby's and the guys with V6's can't move worth a spit, but the GT's, the Bosses, and the Leguna Seca guys can drive circles around most people in their class cuz they're mostly old retired white guys on wife number 3 (i.e. the young hot one that only wants them for their money)grabbing some nostalgia, who only financed their car because Ford offered 0% if they went through them and then they paid it off after 6 months and have probably engaged in moonshining at SOME point in their life. The CLEAN 350/370 guys seem to be the same boat.

As a Mustang owner, not having met the person trolling the OP, I "have met" this V6 Mustang owner. I have a 2003 Mach 1 and it never fails, the only people who come near my car and say things like "I could beat it" or anything like it are V6 Mustang owners typically with a cat-back at most or "typical Civic owner #500382". I know what's been done to the vehicle and I know what's coming from the wheels. I'll be the first to admit when I see a car that's likely faster than it, hell, I'd like to race them just to find out. V6 Mustang owners, on the other hand, tend to have this wild inferiority complex that tells them unless it's a Lambo, they'll win. It's why I stopped taking that car to certain meets. Mazdaspeed 3 drivers are vastly approaching this status as well.

A new V6 Mustang would give OP's car a run for its money with equal drivers, but I'd probably put money down that the blowhard referenced has the driving abilities of a 16 yr old girl in the hand-me-down CRV...

With my s14 sr in my s13 coupe I would pull 1 to 2 cars ahead of my friend's ls1 gto every time. Just bolt ons on stock boost. Now with the same motor in an s13 convertible (heavier than s14's), with 550 injectors, z32 maf, Jim wolf tune, at 16 psi he can't hang. GT Mustang's are no problem either. V6 Mustang's are a joke, even for my friend's gto.
Anyway you have nothing to prove to him, and if you're gonna race him do it at the track.

the only input I have on this particular subject is that my friends got an '11 gt and its pretty quick. 420 horsepower stock, and supposedly (according to the internet) it runs a 4.5 0-60 time roughly. so if your car can compete, go for it. although preferably not somewhere that can get you into trouble.

My Skyline makes more than 100 kilowatts but less than a million. In other words slightly better than adequate.
