so about 5 weeks ago, i crashed my car with moderate wheel damage.. chassis was fine, just a couple of things had to be replaced on my front right suspension. One week later i finally contacted a mechanic to work on my car, and he went to work looking for the necassary parts. I have 300z brakes front and rear, running S14 spindles. after 4 weeks of looking, and the guy feeling like a damn jackass because i told him he would never find the S14 spindle i needed in a junkyard, he said he would use my old one, which was in the crash. now the reason i couldnt switch mechanics from this dumb bastard who took 4 weeks to find a tc rod, tie rods, lower arm was because my dad was paying for the repairs, and i had no money..scroll forward a couple of days after my car finally was towed to get fixed. my mechanic John calls me and says "hey, does your engine have a cutoff switch?" and no, it doesnt.. "well, cause i cant get it started" - WOAH.. u cant get it started? WTF? i would periodically let my engine run so that the battery wouldnt die, and cause.. you know.. i love my car and what not. He said all he heard was a popping noise, and the engine wouldnt turn over. Things didnt click immediately, but then i remembered.. how many people actually know the 240 is RWD? well.. it turned out the bastards towed my car with the front end in the air. My ebrake was on, and my car was in 1st gear parked infront of my house. i guess the bastard who towed it figured it was OK that the ebrake was on, and that the car was in gear, cause it probably wasnt RWD. fooken idiots. you can imagine the damage.. blown engine.. blown transmission.. and my 300z's ebrake setup was connected inside my rotors, not on the calipers.. hmm.

1 1/2 months ago i crashed my car
-took my mechanic 4 weeks to find the parts
-when the car was finally towed, the bastards destroyed my drivetrain.
it all makes me wanna fooken cry  ..6 weeks without my car, now all this BS with getting them to pony up the cash for their mistake. how much do you guys think a new engine/trans, and watever coulda been damaged by them towing my car with the ebrake on would cost just in parts? im definetly not gonna trust these bitches with fixing my car, so ill ask for cold hard cash. then ill tar and feather the bastards.
any input would be great, cause im not sure what to do next.. :-/

Get their asses for a motor, tranny labor and what ever else needed to get your car back to the way it was. Sorry for the loss man.

Get the car moved to a shop where YOU want the work done at, at the same time file a claim to have the shop that broke your car cover your Towing charges ( to get to the new shop and the charges they charged you) and then you can pay them for the parts they got (the new shop will most likely just use them anyways) if you wanna do that, and then tell them you will be sending them the bill from the new shop for a new motor , tranny and whatever else they broke as you can prove that it was towed wrong and as a result this is what happened. Hope for the best and good luck in your situation but file a suit man shops need to pay more attention to detail

Agreed. That is ridiculous that the fucking towing company does not known better than that, absolutely insane. Its 100% their fault b/c they are NOT supposed to tow with the E-brake on if the rear end of the car is on the road,RWD,AWD,or FWD and they are supposed to know which wheel is the drive wheel; when in doubt its not hard to firgure it out either, its called POP THE HOOD,lol.
Get those assholes

did they use a flat bed ?
considering he said front end in the air, i would say no.
s13 with blown engine and tranny? yeckss... get quote for repair from dealership, rape them with it. or a quote for another 240. buy old ka/tranny for few hundred, profit. good luck to you man! sometimes i really hate jersey...

keep all records and get a lawyer. work it from there, also get the lawyer to sue them for rental car reimbursement.

most fixed up 240's NEED flatbeds, they are too low to be towed with the front hanging and it will scrape the bumper -- unless they use those wheel dollies. this is why i say flat-bed ALL the way.
i would make this pricey mistake turn into your favor of forced induction. good luck.

I would make them fix everything as stated, and make them compensate for down time since you had no car for a long time. you would be surprised how much you can get for that. good luck my friend.

they definitely need to fix that shit for u. my friends 90zx got a flat tire and its got a wings west body kit. the idiot guy said that it was not low enough for any damage to occur on the flat bed. we told him that it was gonna rip the back bumper off and he said it was fine. so he pulled it on the flat bed and ripped off the bumper and bent the exhaust. well the car got fixed about 2 g's later and they went to court. and my friend won. its their fault so they are responsble for everything. sew their ass

imo tow companies are retards, ive had my car towed before, and they lifted the back, but still used dollies because the thought it was fwd, and then they wanted to charge me for it, i was already pissed that they had towed my car, cuz it was someone elses stupid mistake, i told them i wasnt gonna pay for thier own incompitence, that got them real mad, haha, but i got my car, back, and almost beat the living hell out of the guy behind the glass, cuz he made the mistake of coming out of his little protected bubble to try and yell at me.
