Looking for an intake blowoff valve that doesn't make the normal "ppppshhhh"sound. I have heard many european performance cars blowoff valves make a flutter sound. I'm not fond of the hisssss (like air releasing from a tire valve). Any help would be great. Apologies for not emulating the proper sound for these valves.
Many thanks,
T

Recirculate the bov. If you have a maf still, it should be recirc'd anyway.

that 'flutter' in a lot of cases is compressor surge where they DON'T use any sort of BOV vented or recirculated OR the BOV opens late. Might sound cool but is very bad for the turbo and in my opinion really a stupid idea.

Like he said, recirculate. Venting atmospherically you will experience issues with stalling and running rich cause that vented air us no longer accounted for.

Get a push type, like the greddy type-S, or HKS race, and recirculate it on the hot-side as close to the turbo as you can get it.
Deathly silent operation.

Thanks for the info, I will go with a recirculated nov.
Just wondering

I did that :

It is merged smoothly, the pic makes it look like it has a sharp angle

nice job. This is exactly what you want. Great example.

When recirculating the bov, is the valve supposed to be full open at idle/partially open/slightly open? I'm assuming open as much as possible, but I'm thinking the vacuum will pull the valve open. Or does the vacuum pull it open as much as adjustment screw is screwed in?

The vacuum pull it open as much as adjustment screw allows it, wether it is recirculated or not. That is why you do NOT want a BOV with a MAF system, as nearly all of them leak at high vacuum (aka idle and decel), causing unmetered air to enter, leading to random stalling. That air is also unfiltered, so it also causes engine wear.
But hey, it makes a cool woosh noise.
