For my S14...

these in 18":

or these in 17":

What do you guys think?

They both look good. Go with the top one's expecially if u upgraded the brakes, and there 18's. The bottom one isn't bad either.

yeah, I like the 18's. they're pretty slick.

I'd go for the 17s 'cause of the gear ratio, but, hey, it's your pick!

Sometimes you just need to make sacrafice's for good looks (yes I did say that)

I like 18's but I dont like spending 200$ a tire on a shitty dunlop.

So here are my wheels. I still have no real pics of them yet because Boostaholic broke our win98 computer so I cant DL pics off the digi cam. But these are the wheels from Japan I got in 17x8 and 17x9. And yes they look ill with my brakes.

My boyfriend has those on his '96 240 in blue-gray. They look really dope.

how much do a good set of light 17's run? and what do you all recomend, i'd get 18's if i had more pwr shit, i'd get 19's if my 4banger was blown......

i'd say go all out, and put the 17's in your front and the 18's in the back now that would look nice...Just kidding...I like the 18's better...If you're going for looks go for the 18's...They're also attractive when it spins. I know someone with similar rims...Looks sweet!

unless the roads are perfectly paved, 18s will kill you

I really like the clean look for the 240's. So for looks I'd go for the 18's, the style is better.

But performance is bigger in my book then looks, so I would personally go for the 17's. Pros and cons.

my240likenoother
10-03-2001, 07:52 PM
i like the 2nd one better for the look but i lika a 18" rim
i wished that i saved my money for 3 weeks longer and got the 18" they just fill the wheel well nicer
so i would say 2nd set in 18"

S13Grl
10-03-2001, 07:54 PM
Hey my240, your car looks dope and all, but what do you have under the hood?

LanceS13
10-03-2001, 07:59 PM
I like the second one's styling better. I wouldn't personally go any bigger than 17's anyway.

"All show no go" is still and improvement over "no show, no go" That is of course if it looks good (and yours does my240).

teamcapsule, i like the style of the top rims alot more, but it really comes down to what size rims you want, and what kind and how much for tires to fit them.
Figure out which tires you want and that may help u decide on the rims.

I think I like the top ones best, now that I've looked at them 18 hours later.

The problem with 17" wheels is that they're hard to find on a stager setup like WeST 17x8 for the front and 17x9 or 9.5 for the rear... unless they're $500+ a wheel. In less expensive wheels (that a broke áss like myself can afford) 18's come with more choices of width.
Our cars look awesome with stager setups, especially 97-98's.
I'm getting the TRMotorsports Typhoon in 18x8 front and 18x9 (with a more pronounced lip) in the back... here's a photoshopped pic, except that my car is green

Yeah, the tops look better, but I can't get that "get the smallest wheel you can fit over your caliper" mantra out of my head...

I'm with hippo. I'm getting 17's max. I want them wide though... What's the widest rim you can fit on an s13 easily?

LanceS13
10-04-2001, 08:28 PM
8's will fit easily, but I think 8.5's or 9's might could be stuck under there, too. I know 9's will fit on the S14.

I think that if you ever have the money you should get a set of RACING HART M5 3PIECE OR THE RACING HART C2 3 PIECE they are the coolest wheels I have ever laid eyes on in my entire life but you got to get them in 18's or 19's.

AJ,

Yeah thye're 18, but remember it's photoshopped, it's not an actual pic. The original photo of the rims is from a Supra, here's the page:
