so i've been installing my energy suspension bushing kit. all of em are in and perfect cept for the front and rear control arm bushings. Front Strut Rod Bushings, front sway bar bushings, rack and pinion bushings, rear sway bar bushings, and rear sub frame inserts... now the control arms are kicking my BUTT.
it is a very rare thing for me to leave something to a professional. either its something i can't get perfectly perfect, i simply can't figure it out, or i'm pretty sure i'd kill myself trying to accomplish it. so i tried to tackle the front control arms and round one ended in a bitter defeat. i felt like goliath vs david. a freaking pussy. so my next idea was to press the bushing out with a large bolt and a bushing press.
right about now is where the sinister horror movie music cues up.
everything looked good then the bolt started doing a leaning tower of piza impression and BA'AM it turned into a tomahawk missle headed for my rib.
nailed... by a bolt.
my rib is bruised like a mofo. it broke the freakin skin... eek. i guess i got off light but monday a tech is sposed to handle the situation.
i'll put a review up for the bushings when the car gets ready to roll. the kit is AWESOME. very good instructions, the best i've ever seen. actual photos. the rear subframe inserts, front strut rods (aide from needing them pressed in) and sway bar bushings are the easiest. CAKE. the only ones that gave me trouble were the rack and pinion and the obvious control arms (to be completed).
took me 4 hours for everything i've completed thus far with air tools and a lift.
