View Full Version : Should I buy cheap lifetime warranty shocks to go with springs?

I work at Autozone and can get some Gabriel whatevers for 20% off and I actually get the 4th one for free right now. They have a lifetime warranty. Would it be worth it to get them (my car has shitty front struts and original rears at 140K miles...ouch), and get some Eibachs or whatnot?

I don't do any hardcore racing, just the usual sporty driving.

Is it worth it?

Just try them with stock springs. The difference in handling will be amazing

Save up and get some decent (preferably adjustable) shocks. They're probably the most important suspension mod you can do, so don't screw around with weaksauce stock replacements. Especially with lowering springs.

yeah, don't go buy regular shocks with aftermarket/lowering springs (it'll blow sooner than you would like even though you hookups, it's a hassle), other way is okay...

or you can buy my used ones aftermarket sets on classifieds now :)

also... some shocks even aftermarket.. will have their warranty void if lowered more than x ammount of inches or if lowered at all...

Say I'm on a really tight budget

KYB GR2
some sort of decent lowering springs (Tein, Eibach... what have you...)
Stock alloys
Falken Azenis Sports ($62 each)

sound good?

GR2s are just stock replacements.
