Sometimes it helps to get under the car and look at it.

Check and see if it's a 300ZX. If so, thank the seller for his time and be on your way.

Hello I have a question, what to look at when buying a 300 zx.
Sorry everyone is being such a douche (typical Zilvia)
Check the fluids, check under the car for bent frame rails, and obvious bottoming out. check the oil pan for bad dents. listen to the engine run, and rev it and hold the revs at 2k, 3k, 3.5k, and 4k rpms to listen for any rod knock (clunking). inspect the coolant for milky consistancy.
if all of the above is good, check all of the electrical functions of the car. windows, cruise control, AC, power steering, sun roof? (do they even come with one?)
if its a T-tops, check the weather stripping for tears or cracks.
if you find a 300zx you really like, and you buy it, then go home and find a forum where people will actually help. (twinturbo.net might be a good place to start)
