Hoping there is someone here who can answer this question, I'm sure there is.

I'm currently stationed in NC but I am a resident of GA. I currently have a 97' 240sx that is registered in NC but I found a 98' that I want to pick up as well however it won't pass emissions due to 5 speed swap (and apparently emissions have been deleted all together). Can I pick up the new one and register it in GA and get an out of state exemption? If so what would I need to do to make that happen?

If I can do that does it need an initial inspection or would it be automatically exempt?

Appreciate any help, thanks.

Call up the dmv in GA and see what you need to do to get it registered as a member of the military. I'm a resident of Texas and I'm pretty sure have seen that they will send you info to get your car registered even while out of state.(I'd have to check)
I have my Nissans with historic MD plates(no inspection/emission) and won't be changing it when I PCS.

Yes you can do it. Contact the GA DMV (your answers are probably posted on their website) for specifics.
