So I have a 90 S13 Coupe, truck opened fine when I bought it. Went to grab a few things, put them in the trunk, went to pop it open to get the stuff out, and it won't open. I had to use a hockey stick to get the stuff out through the car. Now the car is caged so crawling into the trunk is about impossible.
Searched Google and it said something about a release button in the trunk? The car doesn't have a lock on the trunk, so I'm not sure what options I have..
Anyone else have this problem, and find a fix?

There is a valet function on the trunk. There will be a little tab sticking out on the locking mechanism that you can slide up and down. I can take a pic for you if you can't figure it out.

The latching mechanism? Or the lock? There is no lock on the truck.

I'll have to figure out how to do it. Car has a full cage. Either someone small, or a hockey stick...

It's a little lever that you slide up and down which changes the angle at which the latch mechanism is pulled. This is all in the trunk. Do you not have a key to manually unlock the trunk?

There is no lock. I didn't think it would be an issue. Thanks Nissan.

Crappy quality picture off of google, but should kinda help you know what you’re aiming for. I got mine with a stick once lol Good luck!

What do you mean there is no lock? There was a factory lock on the back of the car at one point in its life. Perhaps it was shaved by a previous owner/s.

The lock has been taken off. Like one you use a key? It is just a hole.

The cable could halve broken at the lever where you pop it open. Or maybe it got loose at the lever. Check to see if you can pop open your gas lid. If It does not pop then the cable probably broke.

Gas lid still opens, and I can see the trunk latch moving. Just won't pop

Tie something (string/rope/belt buckle) to the trunk release handle and pull on it as you try to open the trunk by hand.
*I have to do this for my trunk since my struts are bad on my vert trunk when I don't have my key in hand.

Tried it. Actually the handle will stay up and keep the latch unlocked. I've literally lifted up the suspension from lifting up on it so hard. It's just crazy dumb.
