View Full Version : People with 9.5 22 offset what coilover do you have?
i have 18x9.5 22 offset up front. what coilover do you guys have? cause the rims will not fit. unless i use a 5mm or higher spacer. the edge of the rim sits right on the spring perch(i have coilover).
will a 235 tire fit up front?
thanks

my friend runs the same wheel u have, but 17x9.5 +22 and a 225-45-17 tire with HKS Hiper D coilovers or whatever...
about -5 degrees ahaha, and still rubs his inner whele on coil =\
cool thanks
i remember reading that some coilover kits are mounted more towards the inside of the wheel well. i just don't want to use spacers.

shit man if you are running expensive wheels like that do yourself a favor and get a nice jack, that stock POS aint safe.

I think we can all assume that your car is at 4x4 ride height. Look at the pic again. Real Jack is under the cross member. Jackstand is under the frame rail. Scissor jack is most likely used so he could get enough room to slide the shop jack under the front cross memeber. Personally, I have a shitty autozone jack that I put under the toe hook to give me enough room.

I see 3+ jacks.
thats not enough?
the stock jack is used to lift the car high enough to get the floor jack under the crossmeber. since the stock jack was there; i just raised it about 4in more. just incase.
So anyone know which coilover kit it was that mounts further away from the hub?
so my only option is to use spacers i guess.

Yes...use H&R Spacers...hubcentric, high quality.
They will come with longer studs that are OEM quality or better.
www.ecstuning.com carries a lot of them in stock...H&R reccomended them to me when I bought mine.
And bear in mind that the S14 SE uses different F and R knurl diameter on the stud, i.e. the mounting hole size in the hub is ~12mm on one end, and ~14mm on the other...just FYI. Make sure you get the right studs for your car...

Oh yeah...I use Tein HE with 17X9, +25...and it barely clears with 225/45-17.
how about 18x9.5 12 offset? will the rim stick out of the fender alot more then the 22 offset? would the front stick out more then the back rim?
thanks guys

aerodyne Multiple Plate Spacer looks like a good buy for you right now

you need to run at least +10mm or lower with stretched tires, so essentially a 10mm spacer and stretched tires should work
and dont forget about the camber, give just enough for it to sit flush

Actually, I didnt notice the other jacks.
And my car is dumped...I just use an aluminum racing jack that drops down to 3" of clearance from HarborFreight.com
See attached pic for slammed-ness
ok smart ass. the car is on jack stands so it will be totally different when it is on the ground with camber and all that.
So anyone that actually has this size up front?
thank you siizzoo i will most likely go that way. don't want to spend more money to get another set just for the fronts.
are the aerodyne plate spacer hub centeric like orion's H&R?
thank you

sucks for you people who still haven't figured out how to calculate wheel offsets/clearance. It's so basic. Go do some searches before you buy a new set of wheels.

no,no it was to 240sxer something like that.
anyways; all i am asking for is people that have this offset; which coilover kit are you running. simple as that. someone had a coilover kit that mounts further away from the hub then the tein(i think it was).
night ; it was a good deal; and i don't mind doing the mods need to fit it. i did my searches. i saw that heartwork's friend had it but didn't know what coilover he had.

I'm thinking about running the same thing....since the 17x8.5 +22 is no longer available....unless you pay up the ass for custom special order.
Would it be wise to use a 5mm spacer?

i think the22 in 17in only comes with face 1. not 100% sure about that. but when i had my 17x8.5 22 i could only get that one. and it was like 5 month wait

iEATrice was running 17x9.5+22 all around. Pretty sure he sold them though. http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=44300
Maybe he could give some more insight...

The 17x9.5 +22 comes with face 2...err...the better look. I have a pair...but I don't have tires on them...so I can't test fit them in the front.

opps; i meant 17x8.5+22 only comes in face 1. i'm just going to ordering another set. for both cars.

The KTS coilovers (from SPL) have almost a full inch more clearance than the Tein's in the front..

meme, whats your reasoning on not wanting to run spacers. Now it will help with your coilover clearance issues..but will also stick out the rim further fender (might not be flush). Either way..I would just run them. I run CHEAPY ass spacers..the disc ones... and I have no real problems with them.

no reasoning. just prefer not to. it would have been the most simplest way around this.
did you have to use longer studs? i will need somthing like 8mm spacer.
but if that coilover from spl has that much clearance i might just get that.
thanks for the help guys.
