just finished 5 speed swap, reinstalled automatic trans dust plate (just cut off the tabs so it would slide right in without removing trans again) started my car and it seems to be rubbing on the flywheel. My question is do you have to modify the TOP half of the automatic trans dust plate or the BOTTOM half of the automatic trans dust plate (its a 2 piece plate while the manual trans is a 1 piece) .. because ive heard you have to bend it for it to be able to work with manual trans.. thanks

Just looking at this I would say the lower piece needs to be trimmed a bit.

can you cut the automatic ka24de transmission harness off if you are already 5 speed?
Yes, just don't cut too close to the plug, you still need reverse lights to wire up, so leave a tail for the needed wires

I run an auto dust plate on my 5spd KA. I have never experienced any issues with it over the past 2 years
