Im not sure what good absorbing "back EMF" is doing. Back EMF is a term used with AC Induction motors. Google it. If it is a voltage booster, those do work. I have an XS Engineering Ignition voltage booster, It allows you to run a wider gap on your spark plugs and burns your combustion mixture more completely.
I just went to the website. My guess is it is a bunch of capacitors wired in parallel. Google DIY Spark Booster and Read up on that.. Hope this helps.

Well, it is true I am running a .045" gap on stock plugs with no problems.
On my father's car, that much gap is a problem, even at just 13psi (300rwhp)
