Hey guys, my 240 will barely accelerate after 40 percent throttle. She just gets louder. I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap, Rotor, knock sensor, o2 sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, pcv valve, and coolant temp sensor. I tried pulling codes and there are none. I checked the tps voltage. .45 volts closed and steadily rises to 5. I've cleaned the throttle body and mass air flow and verified the wiring. I run premium and have Timing set to 23 btdc. My idle is set at 650. She idles great, too.

My emissions have all been deleted. Only Vac line I have is from the rear of the intake manifold to the Fpr. The egr was blocked off with a squid plate, a paper gasket, and red rtv gasket maker.

This might sound stupid but always a possibility, hows your clutch?

Clutch is good. It doesn't always do it. I'm going to try putting a larger ground between motor and chassis. The stock braided one gets pretty warm.

Leave the braided one on, just add another 2 grounds, they wot hurt. And can you tell us when the problem began?

Have you checked the FPR? Bad fuel pressure would do it.

So over 40% throttle and the engine gets louder but not faster, does the rpms increase after more throttle? If so seems to be clutch slipping or trans issue. Engine could have trouble also if CAT is clogged but I think clutch

what you didnt tell us is, the car was ok and suddently developed this problem, or did you swap an engine in and it's not working as it should. did you do any work to the engine that might have created this?

do you have a wideband? could also be a cam timing problem.

Ever since I've had it, it's had the problem intermittently. It now does it all the time. I just deleted emissions and did all the maintenance stuff. I tried pulling codes again and got code 35 "knock sensor". The sensor is new but I pulled back the wrapping on the plug and it's not in the best of shape.75428

your ecu is probably in safe mode since it's not receiving signal from the knock sensor, drowning the engine in fuel. get another sensor and it's harness, if it's damaged.

The sensor is brand new. The plug is messed up on the main harness

Also, I checked to codes again and there were none. The wires sometimes connect properly and sometimes don't. That would explain the occasional problem and the occasional knock sensor code

Fix your plug, or buy a new pigtail and let us know.

Also try running a friends ecu. Maybe your ecu is just bad

Did you check injectors?

Check tension on the throttle cable. Mine used to get really loose and wouldnt feel any different pedal wise. Just wouldnt accelerate well. Like it had lost its sense of urgency.

Does it stumble or shake? I have had that issue with other cars and it was the plugs and wires. It would run fine, but under load the spark would jump to ground because the plugs and wires were bad
