Asking $6800 obo as it sits, because I do not think I will ever see another pinch like this ever again, sadly.
And yes it runs, although I consider this car a clean chassis ready for a swap, the original engine runs fine / drives / 180k / good tires / AC etc...

You say it runs, but you didn't say that it runs poorly due to one of the spark plug wires hanging out the grille. LOL.

Clean pinch welds, but that steering rack boot needs to be replaced.

Yeah I was cleaning up the engine bay. The plug wire I broke off by accident while cleaning the valve cover. I was like [email protected]#* it and hung it there lol
I want to keep it, swap it, drive it. But I have two 240's. Someone will buy one, and I use the money to finish the other.

All 240s I've ever seen with 120K+ need new steering boots, new door panels, new subframe bushings, new tc-rods, etc... It is very common for these components to wear out.
just lucky we can change them pretty easily. The only thing you cannot change/fix easy is the frame itself. Which is why it is really the only important aspect of any 240sx.

A clean frame rail on a 240 is rare, and you do not start a high dollar project without it.

Sanded / painted spare tire well and vigorously cleaned the trunk area, especially the corners (sides) where all 240's seem to collect pennys or nasty goop.

What's the original color of the car??

^Cobalt Green, I actually went to see this car awhile ago when it was for sale. I ran the vin and it was clean a title but an original NY car. And if i remember correctly it had an exhaust leak and rust was taking over the sunroof. The guy was asking around 5 or 4k.

100% accurate, and to add more information, that previous owner is my close friend whom I've known for 10 years, and I saw the car before paint with my own eyes.

It needs a few minor things, including oem exhaust (because of the leak near the center) here is my shopping list:

http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=576253

The sunroof I am not touching; it still works fine, yes it is rusty but they all seem rusty on every kouki 240sx, even the one with 40,000 miles has rust on the sunroof somewhere.

So you say the vin is clean? I never saw a carfax for it, I could tell just by looking at it that it was worth its weight. But I sure would love to see a carfax... hint hint

It must be you. Of the 5 Koukis and 3 Zenkis I've owned, none have had sunroof rust issues.

Edit: Beautiful color, amazing car, price is the best i've ever seen. Will sell within 5 seconds of posting this.

Well it isnt like it affects the performance of the vehicle.
Nor is it irreparable. a used sunroof is very affordable these days.

Now, if it was the frame rail with a dent or rust... now we would have a problem.
Whereas, I can get a clean sunroof shipped to my house; I can NOT get a clean used frame rail shipped to my house.

No I completely agree it's repairable and not a big "hit" to selling a car (especially these cars), I just wanted to state that rust issues are not "common" with S-chassis sunroofs.

that is your opinion. every kouki I have seen, at least 20 or 30 of them, without any exception, has always had rust on their sunroof. It did not start that way, of course, so some must still exist with rust-free sun roof. So what is your sample pool? If mine is 20 cars, how big is your sample population? so we can statistically weight their importance, and compare with other cars needing sunroof replacements, since the only reason it is not such a big deal is because the supply of spare used good condition sun-roofs is currently abundant. However, if somebody were to say, buy all of the used sun-roofs without second thought, the price would rise, which would cause more people to opt for NOT fixing the sun-roof and just leaving the rusty factory working one in the car.

more importantly, lets have a big ol'e discussion thread about anything related to the importance of maintaining a clean 240sx so it stays firmly planted in view

asking price. I kept getting offered 8500 8500 all day. Someone came finally with the full 9000 today, I even kept the floor mats;
its gone now. Just watched it drive away... I am very sad. I loved that car. But I cannot modify it. Now I am in a position to modify something.

What I really want is a beat up zenki. So I can gut her a little bit (just a few things taken out). And put a nice oem sr20det s14 engine in it... 230~ to the wheels through an LSD would make me... so happy :D

This kouki would be a great car to swap... of course. The only issue is... I do not feel that I could gut it without "ruining it", know what I mean?
