I purchased this car a few months ago.
It honestly was in bad shape when I got her but she is now all ready to go.
It is honestly a fantastic Daily Driver and I would not mind keeping it.
How ever my 69 Karmann Ghia's motor is in need of a rebuild. So I would munch rather sell the jetta in order to keep my Ghia up and running.
Ok sob story out of the way........... lets talk business.
$2,500
will get you the car and all the extras that i have for it, including an engine block.
Lets get the cons out of the way:
-previous owner rattle canned it
-door handles are in bad shape, they will need to be worked on
-TLC (as you will see in pictures the car is not in terrible shape at all, but ofcourse it could use a bit of spit shine to be perfect.
-salvage title
Car is registered, insured, smoged and ready to go. For the new buyer.
The car has a freshly rebuild motor, along with a freshly rebuilt transmission.
Honestly power train is in fantastic condition and I would feel comfortable driving the car anywhere for any amount of time.
Car is sitting on a set of lowering spring, no idea what they are, they where installed by previous owner before I purchased. Makes for a nice ride. A tiny bit lower than stock, and the handling is nice and firm.
Another plus with this MKII is the fact that it is an original CARAT model.
The Carat model was basically a 8v GLI with a 5 speed and POWER windows and mirrors.
Definitely one of the rarest MKIIs in the US market. These things are hard to come by.
I will be including a few boxes worth of parts for the car, along with an extra engine block.
quite a bit of money in extra parts alone.
I honestly have spent quite a bit money getting this car to where it is today. You will be getting a killer deal, everything considered. As far as trades go I am not too sure anything would interest me at this point since the goal of getting rid of all of this is to rebuild the Ghia's motor. But if you have some sort of trade plus cash I might be willing to listen. (naked sv650 would be nice).
