I recently put in a KA in a hatch. Everything is setup and checked. Fuel, Spark, and Air. Compression was tested and good.

I went to the Nissan dealership and talked with an old friend who is a tech.
I explained to him everything and told him that with battery power, the brake lights stay on. He said this could be a brake circuit short and the PCM could stop the engine from starting.

My question is this. Is there really a brake mode that could stop the car from running if it is shorted and thinks the brakes are applied all the time. It doesn't really make sense to me, but then again, cars will be cars and Nissan could have done this as a safety feature.

Thanks for reading,
Tyler.
