Hey guy need ur help please. I have a mishimoto rad with 12" flex-o-lite fan. My car is over heating after some hard driving or running the ac. Everyone is saying I need alitma fans but I been searching but I think there telling me to get the mid 90s. I looked up a 95 Altima and that's a 2.4 4cyc. I'm running a 1jz so I'm a inline 6 does this matter? Will the Altima fan upgrade still push more air then what I have even tho I have a 6 rather then the 4banger?

Anyone can please give me some more info on this swap cause I'm trying to go to the junk yard this weekend and I what to know forsure what I'm grabbing from what car and what year?

Yes I have searched a lot!! I just can't find the answers to my questions thanks!

Personally I have Altima fans on a rb25 in drifting in a caribbean island, and I have no problems with cooling and temps. I got the ones from the 97 and I only had to cut some bits to fit it. Supposedly the ones from 95,94 etc are a tad bit smaller, like 0.5 inches smaller.

And boy do they pull air. What you need to look at in fans is CFM, that's the amount of air they pull or push. the Altima fans have a high rating (don't know how much right now) but its certaintly stronger than any other fan I had tried.

You sir rock thank you!

If I grab 93-96 fans they will push the same CFM as a 97/98 the only diffrence is size? Will newer fans work like 2000-2014 or should I stay at 93/98?

Thank you very much for this info!!

I read that the ones 93-96 are always the ones they look for, but they are supposed to be the same CFM (don't quote me though) but as far as part number goes, its the same from 93-01. But I did read in some OEM seller site that the size was a bit different on 93 vs 97. but very minimal.

Aja! here it is:

http://www.carid.com/1993-nissan-altima-engine-cooling-parts/replace-dual-fan-assembly-6893340.html

Weird, they say they are the same size, but as I said, its realllyyy minimal, pay it no mind.

2001 has a size difference:

Try to measure the open space between the frame rails where the radiator sits, as that's the place where the fans need to go into, I had to cut my fans on the corners of the bottom for the fans to drop between the frame rails.

Take that measurement and measure the fans before purchasing, just so you know what you will be cutting off, also try to get the newer one (97 etc) if they end up being the same size, that way you have fans in better condition :)

I heard the Altima fans are superior to flex-o-lite. I have flex-o-lite now there now strong enough

check amazon. that's where I bought my new altima fans for around 80 shipped IIRC.

If you have a s14 minor trimming on each side is required to make it fit. More trimming is required if you have a s13 since the frame rails are slightly narrower.

As for how well they work, they work amazing. I had two mishimoto 12" fans before and they felt like a hair dryer when they were on. The altima fans feel almost as powerful as the clutch fan especially when both are on at full power. My car hasn't overheat since and the a/c kicks ass now.

Quoted this out of my build thread, not sure if this will help, but I've been running these fans for 2 years now and could not be happier with them, on high I can pretty much hot lap through a set of tires without overheating the car.

So a few weeks ago at ClubFR Drift Day 44 I was fortunate enough to get plenty of track time. Although I was quick to learn how in adequate my cooling fan setup was. After having to pull off the track every 3 or so runs to let my car cool down, I decided it was time to upgrade my fan setup.

So I did some research and decided the fan setup from a '97 Nissan Altima. Not bad for a $30 find.

Went ahead and purchased the needed relay's, wiring, fuses, and other miscelanious items I would need.

Here is my wiring setup for the fans in my s14. I have the 3 position switch tied into the on/start circuit so that the fans turn off if the key is turned off, because of having a turbo timer. Also since I never had overheating issues with daily driving the car with just the single fan, I set this one up to run a single fan on low, and dual on high.

Here is the fitment in the bay, needed to do plenty of triming to the outside edges of the shroud to get cleance for my oil cooler lines, intercooler piping, intake filter, and power steering lines. Pretty sure I will be having new intercooler piping made this winter, for better fitment.

What I did was I used the stock plug for the a/c fan which plugs right into one of the altima fans-easy. I then installed two more relays in the two empy slots in the fuse box (one for high and one for low) with 30A fuses and used the signal wires off the stock a/c fan to turn them on. Now both fans automatically turn on at about 95*C or whenever the a/c is on. I sourced OEM relays and a plug for mine to make it look stock as possible.

I had a similar problem with mine but in traffic. I just added the clutch fan and done deal. I have the clutch fan with fal fans running on the front on a switch , 0 cooling issues. I'm
Sure you will have no issues if you run the clutch fan, just have your current fans kick on when your Ac turns on.

This is great info guys! What about years what years Altima are you guys getting ur fans from?

I seen a few of u getting them from 97s aren't the 95-97 the same fans?

And does it matter if it's the Gxe or anything like that are they all the same fans?

Ok I got the fans today from the 97 altima. They look smaller them my 12" flex o lite fans. I'm really hoping these push more air then my flex o liters?

Anyone know the CFM of the Altima fans vs the CFM of the 12" flex o lite one?

If I looking at the right there both 2500cfm then why did I just buy the Altima fans cause I'm going to still have a overheating problem being there both the same CFM???

Anyone please help??

Thank you

The design of the factory shroud helps channel the air properly. Just hook them up and see what happens.

I don't get it how you are having cooling issues with the electric fans...?

I have the FAL (S blade type) for over 3 years, going on 4yrs now though.
They have always provided the proper cooling.

So I don't understand why you're car over heats....

if you want a real man's fan, get it from a 90's ford taurus.

they blow 3200cfm. they will require a marine heavy duty relay though.

I already have the Altima fans so I'll try them if not I'll get the fords.

Flex-a-lite fans are superior to these!

$280.00+

GTF outta here! :) Even IF (and a BIG fuckin' IF) they are superior, it does not constitute the $280 price tag for a marginal improvement. You simply can not beat the bang for buck of the Altima fans. I can't remember what year I grabbed, but it was 1995 or 1997 or around there. I pulled them for $20 and have been using them for about 2-2.5 years.

Like jamg said that Ford Taurus fan is a monster. the only issue with that is you can only run one as opposed to two altimas.

For the altimas, I cut both sides of the assembly damn near to the fan blades to fit between the frame. You also need to trim/deck the face of the fan shroud to ensure closer fitment, minimal clearance, and greater efficiency.

If you need any help whatsoever bud I can do my best to answer any and all questions. I have installed this on three cars so far if it helps.. 2 for me and one for a friend..
