I need to find an s14 abs 5sp driveshaft for my 5sp swap on my 95 and I cant find one anywhere even local junkyards and such dont have any. So I decided to look for an alum. driveshaft figured I could get a little performance out of the swap as well and I cant even find those. enjuku used to sell them now they dont anyone have any idea where I can find a stock or aftermarket driveshaft?

I thought you only had to swap driveshafts in the S13.

"I thought you only had to swap driveshafts in the S13" you may have just made my day. I will measure a friends 5sp shaft and see if it is the same length would the splines on the front be different from the auto to the 5sp? I have a full s13 swap and as far as I know everything fits the s14 but the driveshaft so all I am looking for is the driveshaft by if I dont need it the that is even better.
golds14: is it from an abs equiped car? I have a vlsd in mine and I guess the abs and non-abs are different lengths.

Yeah, I just looked and you do need one. The junk yards around here have them for $75

Non-abs DS will work fine, I had mine on for a year and no problems at all.

whats the difference then? anyone know sorry for all the questions but this is my daily driver so I need to do the swap in a day which shouldnt be a problem as long as there are no snags.

OK, found the legnth info:
The drive shaft is two sections.
1st section:
A/T:441mm
M/T:421mm
2nd Section:
With ABS:636mm
Without ABS:650mm

so then I would need the abs equip'd ds or else it will be too long

You could take apart both at the joint and join the old rear(ABS) to the new front(MT).

do you have lengths for s13 driveshafts because if I was going to do that maybe I can use my s13 front

btw that site doesnt carry s14 shafts anymore either. :(
So if I get the non-abs shaft and swap the fronts on mine so I have a new 5sp front on my old abs rear then do I need to get the shaft balanced? or is it fine? also do I need to take it to a shop to get the u-joint pressed out or can I do it myself with a hammer and a socket? or will it bolt on I noticed the front shaft bolts to the rear on the front side of the u-joint. at least on the s13 shaft it does. Any help would be great! thanks
edit: Nevermind I checked on how the shaft comes apart now my only question is will I have balance problems putting the 2 shafts together?

No, they are independently balanced. The rubber in the center should Isloate them.

cool I ordered a non abs shaft $60 shipped so hopefully all goes well. Thanks for everyones help. I couldnt have completed the swap without the advice! I will let you guy's know how it goes I will be doing the swap first week in aug when i dont need the car as much but hopefully I can get it done in one day. I am going to mount the clutch pedal and do all the wiring before and then all I have to do is the actual swap in one day so it shouldnt be a problem.
