Hi All,
I took my car for a ride today and noticed that the tranny started making this whinning noise from 2nd to 3rd, 4th and all the way to 6th.
The tranny when I purchased it had 40k on it so fairly new... I reused the existing clutch and got a new throw out bearing.
I'm looking for advice on what could be the problem.. Please help!!!
Thanks!
JT

Well there is so many causes for the wine and barely any information about it.
Post a video of it. Could be an issue with the transmission. Just because its 40k miles doesnt mean its good.
Once we see a video of it and able to hear it, we may be able to help you further.

I will try to get a video tomorrow, however, if you search t56 whining noise on youtube it is literally the same noise - looks like its common and other people have experienced it. I was not able to find a solution on youtube, still searching.
Any recommendations on what it can be? trying to do the process of elimination...
Thanks!

I dont know. I will drain and refill with dexron ATF+3 like you suggest.
By the way, I was talking to a friend and he mentioned that the cranshaft may be doing the whinning noise??
Has anyone heard of this before? Thanks for the help!:bigok:

Do you have any transmission fluid in it period? That should be the first question.

First thing is check fluid.
Is there any gear it doesn't happen in?
