Hey guys. im looking to start a project s13. i do not have the car yet. but im looking for a 89-94 hatch rolling shell. i want to stay with the ka24 and just build and boost it. ive been a honda owner for a while and just got rid of my 95 civic with a b20b1 gsr trans swap. i just want something rwd and fun for a weekend driver. i need to know what all i need to get started on the shell when i do get it pretty soon. i know motor and tranny. is there different 5 speed trannys for a s13? im asking because like i said im new to the 240s. so if someone can help me out id really appreciate it.
thanks in advance!

You have 2 stock motors that cam in the 240sx.
Ka24e = single cam ka. Came in usa 240sx 89-90
Ka24de = dual cam ka. Came in usa 240sx 91-98
Then there are a TON of other swaps but those are the stock usa engines.

Oh, it is. What this forum isn't about is spoon feeding information like Honda forums. Threads like this pop up more often and you're likely to find a thread similar to yours on the next page.
A lot of people will tell you to scrap the KA and go with a SR, LS, or JZ. The more you have other people influence your build, the less it is your car. Do your research. If you don't have the mental patience and ability to do so, you really shouldn't be building an engine--let alone a car.

Tough love but very true. Well put.
