Well to tell you the truth I spend more time on TT.net and Offtopic.net now. Amazingly there seems to be less bickering on TT.net then on here. (did'nt think it was possible) Things well settle down eventually.

The term &quot;jap&quot; is actually not a simple abbreviation but was started in WWII... (you know the story). It's like calling black people that name you shouldn't be using.
And the part about correcting nicely. I think I corrected the use of that term in the other post in the nicest (is that a word?) way possible.

and arguing about racism, I don't think it was ever an argument. All I did was state the fact. If a person used that term with out knowing. Now he/she knows. It's as simple as that. It becomes an argument when you post a remark about it. (like how this post was started)

i just think the rice term is stupid, for the most part, i could care less if the term for all this stuff we knew as rice was &quot;piece of shit.&quot; i would then say that 2 many ppl r calling every little thing on a car a &quot;p.o.s.&quot; i'm half asian n look more asian than white to ppl i guess, n i've had ppl say the word rice when i walk by or pull the sides of their eyes to slant them n talk in some jibberish that they think is filipino or something, but those ppl r just fucking idiots. i don't believe there r ne ppl like that on here, n i'm sure as #### not offended by the term rice on here, i just think it's stupid that ppl immediately use a word like that to describe stuff on cars.

I'm starting to think the word &quot;rice&quot; should disappear from people's vocabulary. It used to be understood that rice would refer to overly tacky cars or all-show no-go cars. But some people use it to refer to all Asian imports. Someone says, &quot;my monte carlo can burn all those rice cars&quot; and I don't know if they mean just posers or they seriously think they can take all performance imports. that's what i've been trying to say, a lot of ppl talk about rice being like ne n all imports cuz of the characteristics that a lot of imports share, like a cat-back exhaust maybe. i'm half asian, n c no problem w/ the term rice itself n i take no offense to it, but i can c where somebody else might.
