I'm about to install an AEM water/meth kit, and basically, i am not going to use the controller the kit came with. Instead I am going to run a Kavlico 150PSIg Pressure Sensor. I am running the kit and wiring it up straight to my AEM ECU.

Has anyone done this? if so are there any write ups or guidance? I was told i need to wire up relays and all that?

I tried searching, but can't find anything with the proper integration.. maybe i'll do the first write up? lol

anyone have any ideas? basically i am going to eliminate the AEM controller and just run a relay, and pressure sensor between the line from the meth pump to the nozzle..

I just don't know what type of relay to get, and what wires i use off my ECU to conneced to the pressure sensor / relay..

I'm running the AEM ver 2. 30-6050

I am familiar with the Water Meth function of Haltech. Once a few conditions are met (RPM, Load), an output is triggered. This output would then be wired to a relay that powers the Meth pump.

I took a quick look and it seems that AEM V.2 does not have a specific Water Meth function. You could however, use the Nitrous Injection function as it would have the same sort of conditions to trigger an output.

The advantage of AEM Meth Controller is that it allows for progressive Meth delivery. The arm switch could be placed between the EMS output and relay. The level switch could be wired into the EMS to trigger a warning light, or on its own for that matter. You would loose the functionality of "Boost Safe" (Engine Protection) when an error is detected.

Here is the PDF for the AEM Meth Kit: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/4g/parts/aem/alkykit/Water%20Injection%20User%20Manual%20-%2010-3000.pdf

It says the controller is rated for 20A, I would get a relay of that amperage.

Why do you want to use a pressure sensor?

My tuner tells me how integration of the whole kit is key.

He wants me to run this pressure sensor between the line.

But if i put that sensor in the middle of the line, what do i wire to that sensor ?

I agree that the integration of the Meth Controller and EMS would be best, especially if your EMS can do something with the "Boost Safe" output. You can use the EMS by itself to run the Meth system, but it just doesn't have the same functionality of the dedicated Meth Controller.

As for the sensor, the AEM kit does not use a sensor, so I can only assume that your tuner wants to install one to trigger a warning light, data-logging and/or engine protection through the EMS. It would be wired to an input on the EMS. If you were to use the controller, low fluid, or any other diagnostic issue, would trigger the "Boost Safe" output and would serve the same purpose without a pressure sensor.
