I have a 1990 240sx (S13) Ka24de with the turbo. My front end is as open as state law here will allow, but I have found that I cant put my fan back on with my intercooler and radiator in place. Do I still need it on the vehicle?

Yes, you need a fan for the radiator.

Get a shorter mechanical clutch pack off RBs.

Depends on what fan you are talking about. Condenser fan or radiator fan.

I don't know a whole lot aboutcars and I'm trying to learn. It's really the first car I've ever tried to work on.

Park the car, read up on cars, learn as much as you can about how cars work, then once things like why a cooling fan are a must make sense you can go drive your car again.

There's too much to assume.
If you have an upgraded radiator and there is no space for the clutch fan you can try less effective electric fans.
Don't expect the air swirling around the engine bay to be sufficient to cool your turbo'd na motor it wasn't designed for that kind of heat.
It's like flushing the toilet and hoping the splish splash from the toilet bowl is going to wipe your ass.

im actually really curious about this...
my radiator fans basically stopped working and i removed them. will an NA KA be okay without direct radiator fans!?
btw i still have the clutch fan on the water pump

Hookup 2 efans and be done with it

I just didn't know if that is enough to properly keep it cool. And I dont have a fan shroud either

If you took a little fan off the rad its not for helping cool the motor like you might think, the one on the water pump is the cooling fan for the motor. They are better than efans but they are hindered by the lack of shroud, you should really try and find one again just to be safe.

Okay I got the fan figured out by running dual efans off of the radiator, now I can't get the car to drive correctly. It's not the turbo causing the problem but after 2k it slows the injectors unless I let back off of the throttle and hit the gas again. I dont know if it's wiring or if it's something else.

You should start a new thread for your new problem.
