i was thinking today if anyone would be interested in stock style fiberglass fenders for s13 silvia/sil-80 conversions?
price would have to be found out after price of material and such, maybe even do hoods, and bumpers if htere was an interest, mainly so people arent getting raped for 1000 dollars on a used front end off of a 15 yearold car, plus shipping!
just seeing if there is any interest

silvia bumpers, yes. make them FMIC friendly. aero bumpers!!! they would sell well, even to those who have already done front end conversion.

frp vented silvia hoods, yes. i would ~much~ rather buy a vented frp hood than a vis non-vented fiberglass hood with cheezy carbon fiber wrapping. m sports style (raised center vent), not ugly gills thank you very much.

stock silvia fenders, yes. would definitely be great for people who ~don't~ care for wide fender style.

I was pondering this the other day. Light weight stock style bumpers and hoods. Great for performance minded people who don't want the uneeded attention. That, and the stock bumpers and hood is super overweight.

it would def be a lil bit cheaper, and we would try and do fitment to the best of our ability, but if we used an orig to make a mold that should be a good start to good fitment:) i would do fenders first then hoods, bumpers would be last on my mind, but i would still like to see other peeps interest, becasue thats alot of time and effort to put into them

as stated, people who wanna loose alot of weight and wanna stay low profile will love this. Fiberglass frontends will be a very nice way to shed those pounds. Do a group buy and see who would like to do it.
im sure you will make a good amount of money doing this. Good luck man.

oh, make Zenki bumpers with lips already attached, Chuki bumpers with East Bear style lips attached, and Kouki bumpers with the kouki lip already attached. You know what I mean? Just make the mold with the lip on there. You would DEFINITELY make money on that. And copy the factory side skirts too!! If you do, you got a customer right here.

oh, make Zenki bumpers with lips already attached
:rawk: With the pignose vents open, and FMIC freindly would be puuuurfect!!! But as stated before, it would need to fit like factory and be relatively inexspensive, otherwise I might as well stick with a factory bumper

Fenders and hood... you'd be a god. I think Mranlet on drifting.com is thinking of doing the same thing; beat him to it!

well wow! i didnt figure this many responses would be had..haha so i guess im gonna start talkin to my dad and see if we can do it, Wed probably try and make them for mine first, just to make sure we can get some decent fitment, but fenders, and probably hoods first, because our hoods are weigh to fuckin heavy

I just found out that I love the Silvia Aero bumper. You make a good-fitting Aero bumper, and I'll buy it, regardless of who I'll have to rob or even if I have the car yet.

Not sure if you're still doing this, but some people are already making aero bumper copies...

Stock-sized fenders and the hoods sound good though. :coold:

I've thought about that too. the stock hood weighs soooo much. i like the styling of the stock pieces just so damb heavy. even the stock bumper cover is like a effin brick.

i would buy a stock hood, fenders, 91-93 bumper, and 89-90 lip.... make em so u can make some money off me. :)

I would love some lighweight stuff for a stock car look. Hood, would be the priority to me. That thing is heavy.

brian- i would def buy stock replica s13 silvia fenders, as well as frp front aero. either j's and q's or K's.

i'm also 100% for any sideskirts you might make, you need a donor for some of these. get with me, being as were both located on the right coast. i'm looking for aero now, b4 my car gets painted. if i supply some of the originals for casting (or anyone else for that matter), they should get a free copy.
hit me up if your serious. :drama:

I just noticed, Va Beach, and South VA for you two. I'm in Hampton. Thats promising. Lets see what we can do. I am about to paint my car so I was going to put it in the garage for a couple weeks doing body work anyway. Now is the time for me to get this done.

It's a good thought, but the used 15 year old parts just may be in nice condition and they are OEM parts. They also come with lights and bumper supports. Where are you gonna find aftermarket fiberglass setup with lights for less than 1000 bucks. I'd rather have OEM parts

urethane>fiberglass for bumpers
Metal>fiberglass for fenders (fender benders>fenders cracking)

the only thing fiberglass is better for is hoods, cause c/f is too expensive.

So i dont agree with you that people are getting "raped" for 1000 bucks. if the whole fiberglass front with lights , bumper, fenders, hood and a bumper support was 1000 bucks, it still wouldnt compare to OEM parts.

Hey is this still going on?

I would definitely but a pair of s13 silvia fenders. I would also purchase a s13 siliva hood as well.

^If my fender ever got hit in a fender bender I would toss it to get a new one : P. also I already have the lights and everyting just trying to find replacement fenders for my dmged ones. so basically whatmy point is therse are great replacement parts for people who already have the front end but dmged it or it came too dmged to repair

just if you going to make a stock front bumper you have to add some kind of a lip on to it. It just needs it.

fiberglass flexes too much...

but, if the price is right I'd be interested in this whole thing...
