I need to warranty my radiator with mishimoto, but they need a serial number and my tag blew off in the accident.. If anyone has a used mishimoto radiator can I get the serial off yours? You won't be able to warranty it regardless unless you have the original invoice. So it's pretty much useless to you guys.

I don't think their warranty covers accidental damage, or is it no questions asked?

Hello, Is this James? I apologize for the misinformation if not.

If yes, we are a little confused here. We see that you sold the radiator in another thread, but you are making an accident claim with us now? After speaking with the warranty team, they mentioned that you confirmed that the radiator was "thrown away".

Also, we check all serial numbers when customers make a claim. If we see that a serial number has already been claimed, we will only be able to offer a discount on a replacement. If someone provides you with their serial number, they would only be hurting themselves in case they needed to file a claim in the future with us.

At this point, we would ask for you to send the radiator back to us to complete the claim. Please contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to provide you with the return information.

Actually, we do offer accident protection for anyone who is able to provide us with a police report within 3 months of the accident. This is offered as a courtesy to all of our customers and for all of our products. Of course, the customer making the claim would need to supply everything else found in a "normal" warranty claim (receipt, serial , pictures)

Thanks,
-Pat

James is that you? Lol

Mishimoto does a real good job with their customer service period!

People trying to get parts for free, or to try and rip off company's is a shame!
Especially when the company takes good care of their customers.

Hmmm...Mishimoto make dual pass radiators for KAs? Since the KA has its inlet and outlet on the same side, I'm looking for a radiator that forces the coolant to go across and then down.

The KA radiator we offer is not a dual pass, but rather a 2 row core.

lol guess I was speaking with the wrong customer service department...

I was offered a whopping 30 dollar discount on a new radiator to replace the <500 mile "used" radiator. Thanks to the failed radiator cap and shitty coolant fill neck welds, air got into the system and warped the head on my KAt after overheating.

If you want a quality radiator, spend the money and get something nicer than this stuff. Ive been very happy with my Koyo, I mean it has lasted over 500 miles and still going strong.

Hello,

Sorry that you are had an issue with our radiator. However, I am not sure how air could enter a pressurized system from the top. Usually, air escapes at the top in this situation. I assume the product was leaking? Air in the cooling system should not warp a head, however lack of coolant will.

As for the warranty, were you able to supply a copy of your receipt showing that the product was purchased new? I would be happy to help get to the bottom of this if you would like. We need a copy of the receipt, the serial number off the plate on the side, and a picture of the leaking area make a warranty claim.

On another note, no reply from the OP?

Thanks,
-Pat

Since I cannot find the email at the moment, I can search for it tonight after work for correspondence.

The top of the system in a KA24DE is not at the coolant fill neck and any leaks in the system will result in air pockets somewhere. The radiator was actually one of the first one produced by you guys and did not have a serial number.

The puddle would form overnight after cleaning it up.

No point in making a warranty claim, the radiator is in a landfill somewhere so no way to send it back. Marked it up as a loss.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, a leak will potentially cause an overheat.

Not a problem with the serial number. We started introducing serial numbers in late 2009 IIRC. The unit you have must have been used for quite some time unless you attempted to make this claim with us a few years ago. I would be interested to see if the receipt is available. If so, there would be no reason for us to not warranty the unit.

Thanks again,
Pat

The car sat for years in the garage with electrical issues. Then after fixing, drove it for a couple hundred miles and overheated. Went through every scenario trying to fix only to overlook the easiest to solve...the radiator cap. This was on top of school / graduating / moving, so trust me when I say that the radiator was barely used as the car sat broken in the garage.

Im not looking to replace it and have no idea where to even begin looking for the receipt. Marked it as a loss and kept moving forward. Just sharing my experience on here. On a positive note, the mishimoto intercooler I purchased at the same time has been great so far.
