Recently a very faint buzzing sound developed around 2krpms... and now it gradually got worse and does it on idle just barely!

I found out that its the internal wastegate rattling inside the elbow.. so my question is.. if i tighten the rod should this fix the problem? also will that raise my boost??

My car also started idling rich as hell recently, and wonder if this could be why?

SO MANY QUESTIONS SO LITTLE TIME!! lol jk but seriously!

When you say the wastegate is rattling inside the elbow, what exactly do you mean. Does the flapper hit the elbow when opening and closing, or do you suspect the wastegate rod nut is loose and causing the noise?

As far as afrs go, I think your having other issues that need to be addressed besides the noise your hearing. Typically i would say exhaust leak, but since it's idling richer than before that couldn't be the culprit.

hmm... well i don't know what its rattling on, but if i poke around and play withe the wasegate rod it definatly wiggles around and you can hear the noise either get louder or softer depending on what you do with the wastegate.

one thing i might ad is the car was running fine on the dyno. idling good and all that.. once i got home, it started idling real rough and cruising rich...

WOT is perfect though. lol

Tighten the arm/rod until there is no play. You should always have slight preload on that internal arm.

As far as it not being able to get under a certain psi (from your PM) you wll probably have to look into the boost controller...if it's set to not open, it'll keep the gate shut and let boost run wild.

it's such a pain to tighten the arm, i may have to take the actuator off to tighten it, lol

At the moment, i am running an AEM ver 2. with the AEM boost solnoid, which is of course wired to the ECU, would that not be an acceptable boost controller?

That's a good setup, just make sure it's setup correctly via ECU. if you're not making any boost or making too much boost, something is awry with the actuator, whether it be via the AEM or the arm itself.
