i know GC makes decent coil-overs.. how are they on the S13? do they perform well? any one have any experience with these?

one of the best! they use Eibach springs and have a single locking collar. as with ALL coil overs ride is stiff but FAR better than the $cheap s**t!

Had them on other cars.  They work really well.  They are stiff, but you can buy different rate springs if you want to change them (I wouldn't go softer).  Gives you great flexibility with ride height (don't go too low or you will blow your shocks).  Only problem is that the springs are linear (not progressive) so they need to be stiff if you want good performance.
