So, a couple of months ago I installed a set of glowshift gauges. They're pretty nice for the price, I like them.

They have a feature that dims the gauges when you turn on the headlights. It's basically 1 wire that you splice in to the headlight 12V wire. This is very useful for night driving.

However, I noticed something recently. When you turn on the highbeams, the gauges undim. The highbeams turn off the lowbeam wire.

This is quite annoying, especially when doing canyon driving. I'm absolutely blind on left turns.

Has anyone ever addressed this issue?

I can't just splice the wires together, because then the highbeams will always be on. I'm thinking of doing something like an OR gate circuit or doing magic with relays or some shit like that.

have you ever considered wiring this feature into the auto dimming wire thats in the factory harness for your stereo? this way it wouldnt be affected by highs lows mids whatever the current may be?

yea just a thought, havent done this myself. but have gone through wiring schematics on the s chassis and if you've ever noticed on all cars the stereo dims upon headlight power or interior lights.

red/blue stripe
red/yellow stripe show to be the interior light wires. check those to see if they "dim" or add the 12v u are looking for to supply ur gauges with the "dim" option
