Hey guys im building up my KA-T. This is my first turbo build but i do work on my NA ka24de so im not blind when it comes to mechanical functioning things. So my question is, The turbo I bought was a turbonetic t3/t4 Hybrid. When I received it in the mail, it had a broken lug lodged in the exhaust output side. I contacted the seller and he claimed that turbos this big come with a side like that but from my knowledge any lose flanges will just result in leaks; regardless of what it would be. Is he feeding me proper info, everything ive seen and read online doesnt come with a lug lodged in the turbo.

Why is it that you don't take it to a mechanic and ask? As opposed to posting a thread asking random people who may or may not know?
I mean just reading what you wrote, "It had a broken lug lodged in the exhaust output side." No, that doesn't sound right. Should a broken lug be logged in the housing? Really?
Or better yet why don't you post a picture?

Been busy with a lot of hw, midterms are coming around, which are heavily time consuming to go to a shop, plus I figure it doesn't hurt to ask before I crack open my wallet for a 20 min inspection.

I think he means there is a stud in the turbo on the turbine outlet haha.

im trying to upload a picture right now but it says its too large, but you know where the turbo meets with the elbow, which goes to the down pipe? well there is a bolt stuck inside the turbo that connects to the elbow? I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be like this but id just like to verify.

no.
Get an extractor and remove the broken stud.
