View Full Version : Low rpm = flutter noise?

Just installed a FMIC, got all the vacuum lines set up, and plugged the hose from the intake. At low RPMs when I shift gears, I get a fluttering noise but it's not from the BOV? I checked under the hood and when I opened the throttle then released it, there was no air coming from the BOV but still made a flutter noise. With high boost while driving, the BOV goes off just fine. Also, I'm pretty sure my BOV is on the softest setting it's gonna get to. Is my turbo/intake making this noise? Should I make it a recirc BOV instead? Get a differnt BOV? Any assistance will be awesome :o

Big picture, you should be fine with flutter at low rpm/boost. What BOV are you using?
Also, if it really bothers you, try rolling off the throttle slower between shifts.

Haha yeah might help. Greddys have a pretty wide range of adjustment.

I was thinking godspeed BOV, or save a little more and get a tial.

Well replacing a cheap one with another cheap one generally won't help the problem. Whichever you choose, definitely save up for a nice one.

Godspeed is cheap but Tial is a nice brand. I would definitely say save up a bit more for the tial or Greddy.
