Okay i've heard with the silvia front, both low beam and high beams should be on when you switch it to High beams. Is this true? When I switch mine from Low Beams to High, the lows turn off and only the highs remain on.

yup all your lights are supposed to turn on and when you need to high beam someone just turn all your lights off and then turn them back on... do this repeatedly

wow, then something is wrong with my car. What do you think it could be? I mean the lights plug DIRECTLY into the car. So its not like I could have messed up on the wiring. UGH.

Why is this just directed to Sileighties? As long as its the Silvia front end..im pretty sure with some double checking of the wiring it can be done and fixed

I got a question about s13 halogens. I just wired mine up yesterday and mine are acting wierd. When I turn on my headlights the out low beams are on and so are the inner foglights. Then when I switch to high beams my right side fog light turns off and my left side stays on, but it dims. Whats the deal? Do you think the wires are barely touching and causing the foglight to stay on when I switch to high beam? I would double check it, but I made sure to wrap it very good and it will be a major pain to undo.

Also, how should the corner lights be setup? Should the entire piece be a turn signal or should the orange piece be the only turn signal and the clear piece be wire to the headlights?

RedRineRacer:
It's because the wiring between USDM cars (specifically 180-style front) and Silvias is different.
The reason the inner foglights (or the regular foglights on dual/triple projector headlamps) are coming on is because the lead that's powering them is the power for the pop-up motor. Ever hit your pop-up headlight button and notice your foglights are on? blammo.
It just takes a little creative wiring to get around it, or you could leave it as-is.. doesn't hurt anything.

Corner lamps should be setup as such: Clear portion is a courtesy/indicator lamp, comes on when you turn on parking lights and stays on when headlamps are lit, orange portion is turnsignal ONLY. Easiest way to wire it is have your sidemarker leads become your parking lights, and when you wire in the extra turnsignal bulb, splice it into the front turnsignal indicator (but just so it illuminates when the signal flashes, not stays on and gets brighter).

Use it to your advantage. makes you look more 5-0. Helps out when there is someone in front of you who doesn't want to move over. :naughtyd:

hmm my lights work as such, fogs on all the time, low and fog, then high and fog, i can't get all 3 to light up. but i think it looks nicer that way anyways...it's a CAD spec 240 so idunno if that does anything differnt, but i just plugged it in to the proper plug and thats how it worked, same thing for the other s13 silvia conversion i did a month after mine...go figure
