Im sure the info is out there somewhere but I've been searching for around 2 hours and cant seem to find it.

When i did my redtop in my 90 hatch I wired everything up following frsports guide. Now since day one (mid july) I've had a slight miss when you hold it at around 3k rpm. It backfires barely like its igniting extra fuel. Its very quick and then its done so my wideband doesnt read it at all. I've checked everything including changing coils so I've come to the conclusion that it has to be something in my wiring.

When it was done I hooked everything to the thick black/red body wire including
Thick blue/red (coil harness)
thin blue/red (???)
brown (o2 heater)
thick black/red (ignition)

Today I tried rewiring it to take some of the load off that thick black/red wire so I tapped in to my distribution block and ran the thin blue/red and brown off of a different source. So only the thick blue/red and the thick black/red are connected to the body plug. However it still misses.

Any advice on how to wire this? Also what is that thin blue/red wire?

sounds alot like what my sr dose. dose it hesitate or bog at all then you give it more throttle and it stops?

Not following why you'd ever mess with the coilpack wiring(?) New coilpack subharness plugs and plays and is only like $60. Unless I'm not understanding what you are trying to do.

Did you change plugs and gap them properly? Try that first before monkeying with the wiring. If the wiring was bad, it would be bad the entire time the car ran, not just intermittently

@dashs13
It never bogs its so quick most people wouldn't notice it. I want it fixed because I'm going to be adding boost soon.
@Mikester
Not the coil pack harness the body plug in the engine bay. Coil pack harness is untouched. I'm talking about the wires by where the battery (used to) set.
finally @codyace
I changed the plugs to bkr7's to oem gap (can't remember off top of my head I believe .32?). I can't notice it at real low rpms but I'm sure its there. I just used the 3k as an example if you hold it at any rpm above like 2.5k you can notice it. Ill try to take a video to show you.

On a side note, going to send my ecu off to rs enthalpy tomorrow and get it tuned for new injectors + I'm switching to chevy truck coils. So hopefully it will be normal. My only other theory was a very slightly leaking injector.
I'm pretty confident that it is not getting a voltage shortage to the coil harness now. And for future reference I found that the little blue/red wire is ignitor power

Just thought I'd give an update. Issue is still here
Read the bold in origional post for info.
Just had it tuned by rs enthalpy for
e85
j4 ecu
ls truck coils
s15 turbo
1000cc five0 injectors
bkr6e's
z32 maf

It still hesitates very slightly and i can only notice it with no load holding it at any rpm. This is driving me insane.
cts is good
tps is good
maf is good
anyone have any ideas?
