Hello everyone

As the title suggests- I have noticed a few issues with my new S14!
The first thing I did was take the car in for dyno tuning. I made 250whp with a bolt on sr20 @ 12ish psi. They recommend I change to an electronic boost controller which I did and they now have me on 18psi via aem tru boost. 275whp on a mustang dyno. I love it!
The car runs and drives fine. There is no leaks or smoke but I have noticed some issues driving it these past weeks since purchase:

My oil smells like gas
The engine occasionally gets flooded
And I smell gas while driving at random times.

I don't know why this very reputable tuner in my area didnt make any mention to it- but I am concerned. After smelling gas in the oil I have not driven her. Do these symptoms sound like an injector problem? What is the order in which I should start checking to rule out potential problems? The car was hooked up to a wideband for tuning and was given a clean bill of health to DD- any input would be greatly appreciated!
Here are my specs
kouki s14 sr swap
isis intake manifold
isis exhaust manifold
isis radiator with altima fans
isis 4" blast pipes
sard fpr
t28 turbo
megan downpipe 3"
300zx maf blowthru
apexi neo afc

pull the injectors and check for broken o-rings

unbolt the rail, prime the pump a few times and see if you have any leaks.

Ok I will check that first. Thank you

Forgive a stupid question but how do I prime the pump?

key on, key off... wash rinse repeat

Yeah, that's a way better idea than just pulling the injectors willy nilly.

Turn the key to "on".

Used oil smells a bit gassy - smell the gas cap, and then smell your oil again.

If you're sure, drain it, and note how much you get (and if it brings any shiny bits with it).

Are you sure it's flooding? What does it do?

Why don't you call up the tuner and ask them?

Flooding like if I leave the key in the on position and am too slow too crank or if I don't leave the engine running long and go to crank again it won't. But if I unplug the fuel sensor? Crank then plug it back in it will fire right up

I did bring up the concern with the tuner. They thought it may be a leaky injector but my wideband readings were spot on while on the dyno.

The car runs great otherwise- it's just a very strong gasoline smell in the car while driving at random times and everything else mentioned! I don't want to harm the engine by Running diluted oil with gas but I also don't want to change the oil and then it get gas in it again!

Wipe any crud out of your oil pan, so you can just pour it back in if you need.

See how much you get.

If it's very diluted, you shouldn't have it in there anyway, if you love your seals. And if you don't want your car to have a puddle of fuming gas under it. It will run right past them. Get it out and check, IMO.

1. you failed to mention what brand injectors, and did you buy them used or new

2. what is the a/f tuned to, according to the dyno
3. what is the a/f tuned to, according to your in-car wideband
4. 18 psi is too much for a t-28 if you care about your engine, which you seem to.
5. Apexi SAFC is not a tuning device, it is a bandaid. No reputable tuner uses a SAFC to tune an engine like that. especially not at 18psi on a stock sr.
6. blow-through is yet another problem. The maf and engine will not tolerate that well. You are asking for serious trouble, you seem to be able to tell the engine is not happy and will not last like that.

and please dont pour any oil back into your engine once you've removed it. Even if it's brand new.

I will post the dyno sheet when I get home. I don't have an in car wide band they just used one while the car was being dynoed. The injectors are purple which are stock as I've read- 370cc. I just can't believe this shop would have me running dangerously as that is/was my primary concern rather than running too much boost and ruining my car. I do have two boost settings so with what you've said I will run the lower of the two(15 psi).
Can anyone recommend me to a knowledgable SR mechanic or shop in south Fl?

You need to turn your boost down to 11-12psj max until you get injectors. 18psi on the T25/28 is asking for trouble and ultimately you'll get it. Those 370cc injectors are only good for 250-275whp max, so at 12psi you've maxed them out, at 18psi you're injectors are wide open. Your motor is not going to last long without a proper tune and at least 550cc injectors.

Ok I will definitely pick up a set of bigger injectors. Thank you guys for all the input. I'm still definitely interested in finding an Sr knowledgeable shop in south FL if anyone has any suggestions!

Right here, I live down the street.

JR SS is correct!

Anything over 12psi on stock 370cc inj is no bueno for you're engine!
You will need 480/550cc injectors size and Z32 MAf, and re-tune.

The leak is probably why you are getting enough fuel to keep the wideband happy. But, your timing map is probably all over the place with the SAFC.

Smaller injector leak will only get you shit at lower rpms and loads. Like a missing rich rough idle. But once to put you foot down and get in the power band itll clear up as the leak is less significant comepard to the amount of air going into the engine.

As promised, here is my dyno sheet. This was before my aem tru boost and I was at about 12psi during tuning. How do my AFR look guys ? Any correlation between the problems im experiencing and these numbers?

I can barely see them.

With a Filter Value of 90 I'm not surprised that they look so perfect...
