aright so i have a boost gauge i hooked up already with the exception that i need to find a 12v interior power source to hook it up to, i want to hook it up to my light switch so when i turn my lights on the boost gauge face will also light up, im using the nitrous boost gauge its cheap and simple, my question is where do i tap into for the 12v power source for my gauges? i was told to look for the fuse for the lights and wire it into that and it should work but idk if this is true? also which if it is true would i have to tap into? i have a 92 s13 240sx with a red top sr, any help would be greatly apreciated

You're looking for 2 different wires. One is 12V power source to power the gauge and another for illumination to turn on the back light on the gauge when you turn your lights on.
What gauge is this to begin with and do you have the wiring diagram.

It will make it very easier if you can find a digital multimeter (DMM). Just test the circuit you want to tap into...when you turn the lights on, your DMM should read about 12 DCvolts. When its off, it will read approx zero. That should be for your illumination as stated above. For your main power you just want a 12 volt switched signal signal (if your guage s electronic). If your guage just has a nipple on the back of the guage, its mechanical and will probably only have two wires (power from your light source and ground) .

yeah i have the nitrous mechanical boost gauges, thanks again for the input guys, i ended up just fixing my cigarette lighter and using those wires attached to an on off switch and attached it to my gauge, works really good
