So I'm thinking about buying BC cams. My friend has 264 and I was thinking if its better to go with 272 since there the same price? Which are better?

264 is your goal is < 500 horses

272 is more, therefore it's better.
Get 300 if you can.
Don't bother trying to figure out hp goals or plan things in advance, just buy shit arbitrarily and hope it works out, k?

Do some more research on the cams. Sometimes just because they are the same price doesn't mean its better. IIRC 264 cams for the most part can be run without changing the rest of the valvetrain, but when you start stepping up to bigger cams you will out grow the stock equipment and will have to spend plenty more than what you initially expected. Also like King said, determine your power goals and choose from there.

I have the BC valve springs and retainers. I want to be about 400rwhp.
In order to get 400 to need to ditch the following:
-HKS 555cc Fuel Injectors
These won't have enough fuel for 400whp
-Ichiba Exhaust Manifold wrapped
This will undoubtedly crack. You'd be better off with a stocker. You'd get more response from a stocker too.
-Cometic Steel Headgasket
Eeeek. They still make these things? Cosworth, ApexI for sure there, unless it's already assembled then just hope everything was machined properly.
-Z32 Maf sensor
The reason why I say this won't work is because of the SAFC Junk
And most of all:
-Apexi Neo Safc
Throw that thing back on Ebay and try to recover your cash. Get a JWT or Enthalpy ECU and call it a day. SAFC is a dial a boom.
(I'd also suggest a better cam, like a JWT S3, JWT S4, HKS 264 Step II, or Tomei 260* cams to get there.)

right, if its a daily, you want to use OEM valve springs and some JWT S3 camshafts

TOMEI CAMSHAFTS are the way to go.
They have recently dropped the pricing on their cams to be
much more cost effective and competitive.
