I've got a car. Non boosted. Non nissan.

Having major cooling system issues.

Issues are as follows.
Will not keep constant coolant levels.
No leaks noticeable.
Heat does not work unless engine is under load.

Yesterday car overheated,
Tried filling system and it literally is rejecting coolant violently. Run car for minutes at a time and the air will not purge completely.

Today drained coolant.
Lifted front of car poured in coolant with heater controls on full. The heater will not blow hot air at all. The car was Brought to operating temp and fans are working so I assume tstat is working. Let the car run for 10 mins and still no heat so I tried to finish filling the system anyway the coolant will not stay in the car ot literally gets blown out.

Any ideas?

Your thermostat is bad. Fans coming on and t-stat opening are not really related. Fans get their signal electrically, t-stat uses actual pressure and water temp inside the lines. coolant coming out means it is not flowing- t-stat not opening.

no heat means coolant is not flowing- t-stat not opening.
Change your thermostat.

furthermore do not pour cold coolant into an overheating engine, or do it very very slowly,

and,

pressure test your system, you may have a leak somewhere internally.

Feel the heater lines to the heater core. Is one hot and the other cold? If so the heater core is clogged. Take the lines off, and put a hose in the one nipple and try to blast it out(to from cold side to warm side, an then swap). Probably just gummed up. This can also cause undue pressure on some cars that don't have a bypass and cause all sorts of wonky stuff/pressure.

It could also be building up so much pressure that it's pushing it out of the vent/overflow and you never see it...

It ended up being a bad water pump.

Timing belt was due anyway.
Got it all replaced and back in action.

Thanks guys
