I might get rid of my project simply because I am about to attend a local university and need the cash. This project has been fun but also time consuming, I do not have as much time as i use to inorder to work on the project.
The car is a '98 with a clean title, stright body and has never been in an accident. The current milage is at 66,xxx and the car has a manual transmission. The tires on the wheels are Yokohama AVS ES100's with good tred left. The turbo kit was installed about 2 months ago and has been through only 1 oil change since the break in at 64,900. The compression numbers are 180 178 178 180. Everything on the car was purchased New unless stated. Also the coilovers, sway bars, downpipe, bov, optima battery, subframe spacers, and rear under brace are newly installed (within the 4weeks) There is no known problems with the car except for minor scratches and dings like with all used cars. There are no mechanical problems.

Isn't it a little to much to charge double blue book price, when the car doesn't smog, and has some damage?, would you consider 11,000 more reasonable?

$11,000 for a Nice Pearl White S14 SE model with new turbo kit to me is too low. I know I wouldn't let my car go for that price. Blue book is not always accurate.

all use car will have some minor dings/scratches. Now days as the s14a's are getting even more rare, the prices on them have been going up higher than blue book value in some cases. i think im asking for a fair price but it's always negotiable. as for 11k, thats way too low, barley over what a stock one in mint condition would go for i think

well a stock one in mint condition would go for around $8940. http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?kbb.CA;059946;CA037&91302;cpe+p&722;Nissan;1998%202 40SX&7;NI;C7&&&
kbb is for the most part acurate and in a lot of peoples opinion, modifying a car decreses its value. i can undertand why people would dissagree, but the average person feels this way

so what your trying to say is, if you had the same car you would resell it for less than $8940?

well no ofcourse not. depending on how much i spent on the car would change the value. 11 might be a little low, but i jus think 16's to much.. 13 sounds better to me

Blue book value is more accurate when dealing with car dealership. It is a baseline on how much a car should worth according to vehicle year and condition. 240sx always has low resale value. However, true that modified car resale value is less but are you really going to keep it stock? But anyway, eyustfu, good luck selling your car. Hell, I wish I can buy it so I can have one for show and another for drift and race.

Last i check kelly blue book has catagories for retail (dealership) , private party (a normal person) and trade (what a dealership would give you) any way paying way over price for a car that doesn't pass smog and has a lot of stuff done to it by people unknown. plus the asking price seems about the same price of buying a stock one and doing it myself? personaly i don't beleive in paying extra for a car that would have no re-sale value except because of the select group of people looking for it. i think 12,000 or cheaper
I'd be seriously interested, given a lower price point. As noted above, car looks great, has quality mods, but everyone here (myself included) is concerned with what kind of hit we might take if reselling the car ourselves. I've sold several modded cars and have always 'lost' money on the deal, essentially selling the car for a small margin above what it's worth. I say 'lost', because given the money put in the mods, I never see 1/4 of their retail value. Now, if it was a situation about parting the car out, you'll see your dollar amount rise, as you can sell the mods for more like 50-70% of their retail value.
But, verbose passage out of the way, I would be interested. I'm currently selling my EP3 and once it's gone, I'll have some room to play ($ wise). Shoot me an email if you feel you can go lower on your price:

I believe 5000 less than asking price would be a lowball....kelly blue book is b.s. ive worked at a Nissan/subaru dealer 6 years and kelly is crap. This guy has spent lots of time and effort making this car as sexy and fast as it is, if you cant appreciate that and think 200 more than a stock one is good you r smokin some good stuff. ALONE the coilovers are 2000 od the turbo kit...or...etc.
p11/ nogrip/b17 you are the definition of a lowballers(in my opinion) :fawk:
eyustfu stick to your guns ...that is a 15-16k car.
the mods alone are 10k w/o the labor

wow, a super rare 98 SE 5speed without ever being in an accident. Good luck finding one of those. this one only has 66k miles and has all the right mods.
If it was $11k, i'd fly over there and get it right now. Everyone will think differently on the price, but i think it may be overpriced by $2k.
Usually you go by about 1/2 to 1/3 of how much all the mods cost (depends on what kind of mods) + the price of the car. I think $10k to $11k is reasonable for that car stock in taht condition. this is a white 98 s14 SE 5speed.
Maybe list all the price of all your mods and post the total on the mods. It'll be easier for others to justify a price.
