Dumb question I know but I want to be sure before starting the car and something going wrong. Im assuming this is a ground wire correct? Thanks for any help guys.

Put a meter on it and check voltage/continuity between it and different points across the motor & chassis... If continuity, then yes it's a ground. If it reads voltage or has no continuity to chassis, it's probably power.

Easy peasy.

I know it's not the power wire and can't check voltage since I have no battery installed just yet. That's why why I'm wondering if this is a ground or not.

Then see if it has continuity to chassis. If so, it's a ground.

If it's a Wiring Specialties harness, there are diagrams that show what's what... To me, it looks like either the connection for the starter or the alternator post.

That looks like the positive feed to the starter motor.
