It's a very straight forward job. Took me and my dad about 45 min from start to finish. Basically you just wanna loosen the bolts on the cat and the exhaust (they might be rusted so it would be a good idea to spray wd40 or whatever) After that just the exhaust off the hangers and put the new one on. BTW it helps alot if you have someone helping you.

get Liquid Wrench from the auto parts store and go to town with that BEFORE you get started. And the fact that the new exhaust is bigger isn't a problem. it bolts up. might want to get new bolts for the cat connection if it didn't come with new ones.

it seems that all exhaust installs that I have done were not straight forward, I always had to cut something and drill and dremel. cause of rust, your in NY so im guessing you have some rust too. but if the bolts do come off it should be simple.

Yea, they tend to be really rusted. I recall I think I had to drill one out. Also, a good TIP is to "LUBE" up the hangers when trying to put the exhaust hangers in. I usually just spray the hanger rods and POP, they slip right in...and OUT! Use wtvrs...wd40....KY JELLY...wtvr you want.

i havent been that lucky... anything connected to my cat is now permenantly one piece :) u might hafta get a heat torch and warm up the nuts, right after u use liquid wrench or watever. good luck

try pb blaster + craftsman nut-out (funny name) + breaker bar and a fat socket. just make sure you have a replacement bolt afterwards cuz your old one is going to be grooved to hell (yes grooved... not stripped)

i had to take the heat shield off my cat cuz the stud was too long for my non-deep socket so i had to use a wrench. then, the old exhuast was custom from the axle-back and had impossible-to-remove hangars. there was one custom bracket that i actually had to rip off the chassis cuz the hangar was welded on to the pipe after the hangar was put into the bracket. removal took me about at hour. :goyou: install was about 10 minutes

if liquid wrench and wd-40 doesn't work... I have a feeling that PB Blaster will do the trick...make sure you soak the thing very well and let it sit..the longer the sit the better...
