Ohhhh, you meant garbage. Well, the one at Polk had a bunch of dirt bags; so, I doubt it'll be anything worse. At least it's new and jammed full of snap-on tools and an in-ground alignment rack, so I'm happy.
Mmmmm, I can't wait until a motherfucker tries to tell me I can do something in there....

car scene is strong bro, but, its mostly about domestic cars. you'll come across some japanese imports, but nothing too crazy; if they are, american's own them. its expensive to own a car and modify it here. you're looking at about 8-9,000 euros for a good R33, and thats just a gts-t. the TUV is ridiculous. hell, koukis start at about 6,000 euro stock.
love the autobahn though. Germans overall are agressive drivers, but they're good drivers(most). doing 130mph on the autobahn and still getting passed by fucking turbo diesel audi wagons getting twice the gas mileage; hate that shit.
but, you should to bring a S13 with you and sell it to me; or an s14. i'm not bucking up $3500+ for a stock euro spec s13 w/ a ca18 and 250tkm

Jap cars are cheap, not JDM imports. Problem with importing RHD is that they have to get the approval paperwork, then have LHD mods done like correcting the headlight beams (~2000euros). Being military, you dont have to worry as long as it conforms to the USEURA inspection. Guy locally is selling an evo VI tommy makanien(Sp?) For 5k euro, so that's an awsome deal.
Yes modded cars are allowed, it like I said....it's expensive, VAT is like 19%

The 316/318/320 models are cheap. Expect to pay up for an e36 w/ a 2.5 or a 2.8. They also go crazy for older bmws and mercs; just gotta look for deals.
Seriously though, bring a 240, I'll buy it haha.

I picked up my 180sx from a guy here that was PCSing. It's a 98 but the mileage is starting to get up there on the motor. It's pretty much stock except for an exhaust, air filter, and coilovers. Also my car is a magnet for people hitting it and leaving. I still haven't fixed my front fender from the last hit and run.
The autobahn is a blast but having the lame speed limiter on the car sucks. Graf is kind of in the country side so there isn't much around. You have to go about an hour to get to a major city either Nuremburg or Regensburg. Munich is past Regensburg, about a 2 hour drive.

I am stationed by ramstein and am having this same problem with my s2000. I wrecked it a month ago and have been trying to find a affordable bumper over here. I had to leave the s13 at home until I come back because it would never have passed inspection.

I ended up hitting a guard rail because the tail end kicked out going around a curve and I couldn't recover it so I slid into a guard rail. The bumper was screwed so I pulled it off and have been waiting to order a new one. I have contemplated trying to have one shipped. But I think it will be ridiculous in shipping fees from the united states.

Dude, how is it? I'm Army stationed out of Okinawa and it is ... fairly boring. The culture difference is very eye opening though. It's funny, all the JDM kids back in the states think that Japan is the most amazing place in the world ... it's cool, but it's not everything it's cracked up to be. Now Germany and the autobahn/nurburgring ... that's gotta be a different story. What unit are you with?
Keep your head down and stay safe.

LOVE IT bro. if we didn't have the ARI hanging our heads and getting hammered with NATO exercises, it'd be much better haha. its all about where you go and who you meet. the wife and I have basically been all over bavaria and central germany during the past 7 months, london, paris, prague poland as well.
speaking of Army in Oki. happen to know a SPC(still i think) Westbrook, hes commo. drives a silver EVO4.

Meh, I'd rather have a cool country than cars. Everyone is wild about R32 GTRs here, but they wreck the finances of most Soldiers. Unreliable car, expensive parts, and requires off base gas ($6/gal).
Let me know if you want parts. I can probably ship from AP -> AE inexpensively.

Has anyone seen any AE86 out there? I know a buddy of mine has one in his garage, but doesn't drive it. I'm thinking of bringing my AE86 Trueno from the US once I PCS to Germany. I was stationed in Heidelberg 4 years ago and next will be K-town.

ha..story of my life. I selected this assignment, government defaulted and held up my orders, asshole CSM pushed into WLC that started a week before I started clearing, and had to fight like hell for every inch I tried to get my foot out of the door. I started the whole process with 60 days until the report date. Sold what I had to, shipped a car, bought plane tickets, and dropped 30 days leave. Finally got my orders 7 days before I was supposed to start clearing. Ft. Polk really likes screwing people.

I just arrived in Germany (Spangdahlem) a little over a month ago. Does anyone know of any GOOD paint & body shops around this area or even the Ramstein area? Same thing goes with a mechanic. The only places I've found while searching were OK Car Styling and Lenhard Paint & Body, of which Lenhard had a not-so-favorable review on BimmerForums a while back.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciate and hope to see some of you around.

I really appreciate the reply. I found a local body shop and mechanic that most of the local "car guys" go to, so that part is handled. You wouldn't know of a shop that is good with setting up an Apex'I Neo would you? Also, it's for my GS430, I sold the 200sx before I went to Korea and came back then just drove the Lexus from the UK to Germany.
