Hey everyone whats up.
I was just curious to know what the scene's are like in your city or town? Is it just street racing or is there a drift scene too? Things like that. Do not get into to much detail of names of place's and what not. You never know who might be watching the board.
Just your city/town and the local hang out, that's known already, and how it is there.
Here in Toronto it used to be wild. Friday and Saturday nights belonged to us. It was nonstop run after run. We'd start off at a local Tim Horton's donut shop, The parking lot was always rammed. There were sometimes between 200-400 cars there. True a lot of it was "Show N Shine" but there was always enough people willing to go.
Over the last couple of years we've had to move around from place to place because of the "HEAT" but it still was good. Now though it's turned in to more show n shine then I like. Full of "Ricers" instead of racers. When something does start to look good, in comes the task force to put an end to it. We all used to think that half the fun of the races was running from the cops. My how things have changed. Now plaza's are using local security guards to kick us out. Some have even gone as far as to chain the lots at night.
We have two different programs here. PACER - Police And Community Educating Racers. They are not to bad. The cops like the cars and the people and just want to see racing done safely on the track. They also explain what is legal and what is'nt for your car. Then there is ERASE - Eliminte Racing on Streets Everywhere. These are the guys you don't want to get caught by. True there doing there jobs but they are all assholes, putting it nicely, when you get stopped. Approximately 99% of the time you'll get a ticket. It does'nt matter what it is, they give you something. Things like a ticket for a K&N cone filter to a burnt out light bulb. Even a legal bolt on turbo or super charger kit will get you a ticket. The cops reasoning is that it did'nt come with the car. Now most of the tickets won't hold up in court but you still have the hassel of going and fighting it.
Basicly we don't really even have a scene anymore. It was like FnF with full lots, music, girls, wild rides and racing. Now it's mostly just ricing.
Well that's here. Let me know what yours is like. I hope it's better then in Toronto.
Race and Drift Safe!

good...street racing, dont get me wrong its fun to speed and shit. but its just too dangerous with all those idiots. not to sound "high and mighty", but you know your ability (driving/safety wise), but what about the guy next to ya?... like you said most of them are "show and shine" ricers....who knows.

There is no TRU scene without the breakdancing and betting the $$$.
"Why don't we kick it a nickel?"
The SFV has no "scene" and I'm not part of it if there is one. Hell, all these posers with their "drift cars" and what not, I never see them driving in the canyons like most claim, and if they are, they are just "cruising."
Fuck the scene. Do it for yourself.

^^^ wErd fuck the scene, if that is all you want to be apart of just go buy a honda, no offense to honda guys. i dunno why you would even care. just look at your post, are you proud of it? Here in Toronto it used to be wild. Friday and Saturday nights belonged to us. It was nonstop run after run.

Retarded kids like yourself have yet to infest my area. There's no "scene" by me at all and I like it that way. The twisty back roads, the industrial lots, all belong to me. I can practice my drifts alone and stay fresh for the track without too much trouble or attention. Ricers have started staring at my car alot lately though and a few say "Yo you gotz an SR in dat?!".

I don't know what kind of scene your talking about, but there are a bunch of fagget high school kids around here with lots of money that rice the hell out of there cars then ride around with their loud ass, fart mufflers. It pisses me off. Most of them are hondas. There's a few hundred cars like that around here.

thank god. the only 'scene' around here is the drag racers, drift posers and hard parkers. I don't think anyone around here drifts. thank god. scenes are fucking gay.
There is a scene here... and that FREAKIN SCENE is destroying the reputation of regular drivers.... Last year, I never was followed by cops. I used to drive by desides them and they wouldn't even look at me. Now, in the last month, I got followed around TWICE and got a ticket once for a loud exhaust... I can't believe this. I am so pissed at the "SCENE" I wish they would all crash and die.

I am a little north of detroit and the scene is pimped out escalades w spinners and murder, good thing im north, but there is no need for a thread like this, it is NEWB suicide.

Saskatchewan Canada...Fuck the scene is so stupid what people talk about, the conversations are ridiculous. Had one person convinced he needed new "exhaust bearings" for his Turbo RX7.....Im the lone driver....The only good thing nowadays is practicing car control in empty parking lots at like 2 in the morning as well as cat and mouse...Which is almost never done...Once it comes to corners people just quit...Half the fun of it is the heel toe downshifts.

buudweizerr: I have acquaintances that race around you all the time, or so they claim. Thats not here nor there though. I don't like racing on the streets. and since I have been going to the track more I don't even have to deny the urge (its not there).

i don't know if there is a scene around me or not. if there is, i'm not part of it. my car world consists of kickin it with friends, drivin in the hills, and going to events
Pretty much all rice over here. Va. Beach police is pretty cool. Not much racing going on either. There is alittle but not much. Like i said, mostly rice.
240Speed - I know how you feel man, at like 2 in the morning all i hear is loud ass fartcans trying to haul ass in their POS integs and hondas.

From the sounds of it, it's the same all over.
I never said I liked the "Scene" now. It used to be fun. Hanging with my friends and fellow racers. That was back in 99' and 2000. That was like 4 years ago. Things have just changed so much that it is NOT fun anymore!
We, my friends and I, have gone are own way now. At least some of us. We too use empty parking lots and industrial streets with little to no traffic to practice drifting and what not. As yet drifting has'nt caught the attention of the cops. There to busy busting ricers and so on. That suits us just fine.
My appoligies if this thread irked anyone. It was'nt ment as that and no one should have taken it that way. I was curious what things were like else where, told you guys how it was here and nothing more. To say "get the fuck outta here" or "there's no need for this thread" is childish. It was a question to ONLY know what things were like for you. Asking questions or wondering things does'nt make this a NEWB thread either! Im sure a thought like this has crossed, almost, everyone's mind at some point. I just decided to ask it.
Now saying you don't want to be part of the scene or your glad there is no scene is the right way to reply. Your oppinion gets stated and is left at that.
Anyway, that's it.
Have a good one.

I live like 30-40 minutes away from a track...so I never really see any scenes if there are any where I am.

Fuck the scene thats just how some of us are...But for the others let them be, has them being in a scene offended u in anyway???I laugh at the groupies surrounding the "Type R" civic hatchback in the local grocery store parking lot. Popo here crack down on any import or modified car. So the ricers are getting :Owned:By modified i mean loud exhaust losts of stupid illegal exterior crap as well as the flashy stuff like orange cars getting busted for the smallest things...

there is only 1 type of scene out in the newark, nj area.....the scene of the accident- normally 17 or 18 year old guys who are showing off and kill their passengers, normally girls who dont even care about speed.
And of course, the rice boy scene which is held at the local Dunkin Donuts...frugal krugal fo' sho'

I think Modesto takes the cake for most fake cars, and most/severe rice.
edit:
btw, I just saw this same Topic on Drifting.com... WTF???????
You best leave the drifting.com shit on drifting.com. :squint:
Its not bad, theres rice, and then theres nice. A local club here has a turbo'ed type r, a former member had a 240sx fastback with and S13 front end conversion, but veilside kit :(, and the SR20DET. But then theres a ricer club where they focus on looks, there used to be racing all the time, there still is actually, cops dont seem to give a shit, but its gonna backfire.

The scene around here consists of people hating and threatening eachother on message boards, calling eachother out and not racing but coming up with excuses. Then they're all cool when they see eachother in person. I stay away from it.

Nah, wasn't me. Must've been some other riced out 240. :hahano: :p The highschool girls sound rather enticing though. :boink:
Modesto takes the cake for most rev-happy posers and ricers in America, guaranteed!
P.S. - Whateverjames, your car looks good with the wheels on there! :coold: You just need to paint that bumper!
